H6140–עָקַשׁ–a.qash

If I justified myself, mine own mouth would condemn me; were I perfect, he would prove me perverse.

וַֽיַּעְקְשֵֽׁנִי׃ (יַּעְקְשֵֽׁ) i.ya'.ke.She. “it declared guilty”

He that walketh in integrity walketh securely; but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

וּמְעַקֵּ֥שׁ (מְעַקֵּ֥שׁ) me.'a.Kesh “[one who] perverts”

Whoso walketh in integrity shall be saved; but he that is perverted in [ergänzt: his] double ways, shall fall in one [ergänzt: of them].

וְנֶעְקַ֥שׁ (נֶעְקַ֥שׁ) ne'.Kash “[one who] is crooked of”

the way of peace they know not, and there is no judgment in their goings; they have made their paths crooked: whoso goeth therein knoweth not peace.

עִקְּשׁ֣וּ 'i.ke.Shu “they have made crooked”

Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity,

יְעַקֵּֽשׁוּ׃ ye.'a.Ke.shu “they make crooked”
