H5181–נָחֵת–na.chat

They that strive with Jehovah shall be broken to pieces; in the heavens will he thunder upon them. Jehovah will judge the ends of the earth; and he will give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.

יֵחַ֣תּוּ ye.Cha.tu “they will be shattered”

He teacheth my hands to war, And mine arms bend a bow of brass.

וְנִחַ֥ת (נִחַ֥ת) ni.Chat “it will stretch”

It shall go down to the bars of Sheol, when [ergänzt: our] rest shall be together in the dust.

נָֽחַת׃ Na.chat “will we descend”

They spend their days in prosperity, and in a moment go down to Sheol.

יֵחָֽתּוּ׃ ye.Cha.tu “they descend”

Who teacheth my hands to war, and mine arms bend a bow of brass;

וְֽנִחֲתָ֥ה (נִחֲתָ֥ה) ni.cha.Tah “it will stretch”

For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand cometh down upon me.

נִ֣חֲתוּ Ni.cha.tu “they have penetrated”וַתִּנְחַ֖ת (תִּנְחַ֖ת) tin.Chat “it has come down”

Thou dost satiate its furrows, thou smoothest its clods, thou makest it soft with showers; thou blessest the springing thereof.

נַחֵ֣ת na.Chet “you press down”

A reproof entereth more deeply into him that hath understanding than a hundred stripes into a fool.

תֵּ֣חַת Te.chat “it goes deep”

Behold, I am against thee, inhabitress of the valley, the rock of the plain, saith Jehovah; ye that say, Who shall come down against us, or who shall enter into our dwellings?

יֵחַ֣ת ye.Chat “will he come down”

Haste ye and come, all ye nations round about, and gather yourselves together. Thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O Jehovah.

הַֽנְחַ֥ת han.Chat “bring down”
