H4680–מָצָה–ma.tsah

And the priest shall bring it near to the altar and pinch off its head and burn it on the altar; and its blood shall be pressed out at the side of the altar.

וְנִמְצָ֣ה (נִמְצָ֣ה) nim.Tzah “it will be drained out”

and he shall sprinkle of the blood of the sin-offering on the wall of the altar; and the rest of the blood shall be wrung out at the bottom of the altar: it is a sin-offering.

יִמָּצֵ֖ה yi.ma.Tzeh “it will be drained out”

And it was so. When he rose early next morning and squeezed the fleece, he wrung enough dew from the fleece to fill a bowl with water.

וַיִּ֤מֶץ (יִּ֤מֶץ) i.Yi.metz “he drained”

Therefore his people turn hither, and waters in fulness are wrung out to them.

יִמָּ֥צוּ yi.Ma.tzu “they are drained”

For in the hand of Jehovah there is a cup, and it foameth with wine, it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same; yea, the dregs thereof shall all the wicked of the earth drain off, [ergänzt: and] drink.

יִמְצ֣וּ yim.Tzu “they will drain”

Arouse thyself, arouse thyself, stand up, Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of Jehovah the cup of his fury. Thou hast drunk, hast drained out the goblet-cup of bewilderment:

מָצִֽית׃ ma.Tzit “you have drained”

thou shalt even drink it and suck it out, and thou shalt gnaw the sherds thereof, and pluck off thine own breasts: for I have spoken [ergänzt: it], saith the Lord Jehovah.

וּמָצִ֗ית (מָצִ֗ית) ma.Tzit “you will drain [it]”
