H1245–בָּקַשׁ–ba.qash

That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand didst thou require it, whether stolen by day or stolen by night.

תְּבַקְשֶׁ֑נָּה (תְּבַקְשֶׁ֑) te.vak.She. “you sought”

And a certain man found him, and, behold, he was wandering in the field: and the man asked him, saying, What seekest thou?

תְּבַקֵּֽשׁ׃ te.va.Kesh “are you seeking”

And he said, I am seeking my brethren: tell me, I pray thee, where they are feeding [supplied: the flock].

מְבַקֵּ֑שׁ me.va.Kesh “[am] seeking”

I will be surety for him; of my hand shalt thou require him: if I bring him not unto thee, and set him before thee, then let me bear the blame for ever:

תְּבַקְשֶׁ֑נּוּ (תְּבַקְשֶׁ֑) te.vak.She. “you will require”

And Joseph made haste; for his heart yearned over his brother: and he sought where to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there.

וַיְבַקֵּ֖שׁ (יְבַקֵּ֖שׁ) y.va.Kesh “he sought”

Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.

וַיְבַקֵּ֖שׁ (יְבַקֵּ֖שׁ) y.va.Kesh “he sought”

And Jehovah said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt; for all the men are dead that sought thy life.

הַֽמְבַקְשִׁ֖ים (מְבַקְשִׁ֖ים) m.vak.Shim “sought”

And it came to pass on the way at the lodging-place, that Jehovah met him, and sought to kill him.

וַיְבַקֵּ֖שׁ (יְבַקֵּ֖שׁ) y.va.Kesh “he sought”

Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve Jehovah; for that is what ye desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.

מְבַקְשִׁ֑ים me.vak.Shim “[are] requesting”

Now Moses used to take the tent and to pitch it without the camp, afar off from the camp; and he called it, The tent of meeting. And it came to pass, that every one that sought Jehovah went out unto the tent of meeting, which was without the camp.

מְבַקֵּ֣שׁ me.va.Kesh “[one who] sought”

Turn ye not unto them that have familiar spirits, nor unto the wizards; seek them not out, to be defiled by them: I am Jehovah your God.

תְּבַקְשׁ֖וּ te.vak.Shu “you seek [them]”

and that he hath brought thee near, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee? and seek ye the priesthood also?

וּבִקַּשְׁתֶּ֖ם (בִקַּשְׁתֶּ֖ם) vi.kash.Tem “you seek”

or with any stone, whereby a man may die, seeing him not, and cast it upon him, so that he died, and he was not his enemy, neither sought his harm;

מְבַקֵּ֖שׁ me.va.Kesh “[was] seeking”

But from thence ye shall seek Jehovah thy God, and thou shalt find him, when thou searchest after him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

וּבִקַּשְׁתֶּ֥ם (בִקַּשְׁתֶּ֥ם) vi.kash.Tem “you will seek”

And thou shalt stone him to death with stones, because he hath sought to draw thee away from Jehovah thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

בִקֵּ֗שׁ vi.Kesh “he sought”

And they went, and came unto the mountain, and abode there three days, until the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but found them not.

וַיְבַקְשׁ֧וּ (יְבַקְשׁ֧וּ) y.vak.Shu “they searched”

that we have built us an altar to turn away from following Jehovah; or if to offer thereon burnt-offering or meal-offering, or if to offer sacrifices of peace-offerings thereon, let Jehovah himself require it;

יְבַקֵּֽשׁ׃ ye.va.Kesh “may he require”

And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will show thee the man whom thou seekest. And he came unto her; and, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the tent-pin was in his temples.

מְבַקֵּ֑שׁ me.va.Kesh “[are] seeking”

And they said one to another, Who hath done this thing? And when they inquired and asked, they said, Gideon the son of Joash hath done this thing.

וַיְבַקְשׁ֔וּ (יְבַקְשׁ֔וּ) y.vak.Shu “they searched”

But his father and his mother knew not that it was of Jehovah; for he sought an occasion against the Philistines. Now at that time the Philistines had rule over Israel.

מְבַקֵּ֖שׁ me.va.Kesh “[was] seeking”

In those days there was no king in Israel: and in those days the tribe of the Danites sought them an inheritance to dwell in; for unto that day [supplied: their] inheritance had not fallen unto them among the tribes of Israel.

מְבַקֶּשׁ־ me.va.kesh- “[was] seeking”

And Naomi her mother-in-law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?

אֲבַקֶּשׁ־ 'a.va.kesh- “will I seek”

And the asses of Kish, Saul's father, were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses.

בַּקֵּ֖שׁ ba.Kesh “seek”

When thou art departed from me to-day, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel's sepulchre, in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found; and, lo, thy father hath left off caring for the asses, and is anxious for you, saying, What shall I do for my son?

לְבַקֵּ֔שׁ (בַקֵּ֔שׁ) va.Kesh “seek”

And Saul's uncle said unto him and to his servant, Whither went ye? And he said, To seek the asses; and when we saw that they were not found, we came to Samuel.
