H3476–יֹ֫שֶׁר–yo.sher

Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thy heart, dost thou enter in to possess their land, but for the wickedness of these nations doth Jehovah thy God dispossess them from before thee, and that he may perform the word which Jehovah swore unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

וּבְיֹ֙שֶׁר֙ (יֹ֙שֶׁר֙) Yo.sher “[the] uprightness of”

And [supplied: as for] thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, [supplied: and] wilt keep my statutes and mine ordinances;

וּבְיֹ֔שֶׁר (יֹ֔שֶׁר) Yo.sher “uprightness”

And I know, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. In the uprightness of my heart have I willingly offered all these things; and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, offer willingly to thee.

How forcible are right words! but what doth your upbraiding reprove?

יֹ֑שֶׁר Yo.sher “uprightness”

My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart, and my lips shall utter knowledge purely.

יֹֽשֶׁר־ yo.sher- “[are] [the] uprightness of”

If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his duty;

יָשְׁרֽוֹ׃ (יָשְׁרֽ) ya.she.R “uprightness”

Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.

וָיֹ֥שֶׁר (יֹ֥שֶׁר) Yo.sher “uprightness”

I will give thee thanks with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.

בְּיֹ֣שֶׁר (יֹ֣שֶׁר) Yo.sher “uprightness of”

[supplied: from those] who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

יֹ֑שֶׁר Yo.sher “uprightness”

I will teach thee in the way of wisdom, I will lead thee in paths of uprightness.

There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is right, but [supplied: it tendeth] only to want.

מִ֝יֹּ֗שֶׁר (יֹּ֗שֶׁר) Yo.sher “uprightness”

He that walketh in his uprightness feareth Jehovah; but he that is perverted in his ways despiseth him.

בְּ֭יָשְׁרוֹ (יָשְׁר) ya.she.r “uprightness”

To punish a righteous [supplied: man] is not good, nor to strike nobles because of [supplied: their] uprightness.

The Preacher sought to find out acceptable words; and that which was written is upright, words of truth.
