Let his sons be fatherless, and his wife a widow;

יְתוֹמִ֑ים ye.to.Mim “fatherless ones”

Let there be none to extend kindness unto him, neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children;

לִיתוֹמָֽיו׃ (יתוֹמָֽי) to.Ma “fatherless children”

Jehovah preserveth the strangers; he lifteth up the fatherless and the widow; but the way of the wicked doth he subvert.

יָת֣וֹם ya.Tom “[the] fatherless”

Remove not the ancient landmark; and enter not into the fields of the fatherless:

יְ֝תוֹמִ֗ים ye.to.Mim “fatherless ones”

learn to do well: seek judgment, gladden the oppressed, do justice to the fatherless, plead for the widow.

יָת֔וֹם ya.Tom “[the] fatherless”

thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves; every one loveth presents, and hunteth after rewards; they judge not the fatherless, and the cause of the widow cometh not unto them.

יָתוֹם֙ ya.tOm “[the] fatherless”

Therefore the Lord will not rejoice in their young men, neither will he have mercy on their fatherless and on their widows; for every one is a hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, and his hand is stretched out still.

יְתֹמָ֤יו (יְתֹמָ֤י) ye.to.Ma “fatherless ones”

to turn away the poor from judgment, and to take away the right from the afflicted of my people; that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!

יְתוֹמִ֖ים ye.to.Mim “fatherless ones”

They are become fat, they shine, yea, they surpass in deeds of wickedness; they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, and they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not adjudge.

יָת֖וֹם ya.Tom “[the] fatherless”

[ergänzt: if] ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed no innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt;

יָת֤וֹם ya.Tom “[the] fatherless”

Thus saith Jehovah: Execute judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor; and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, or the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place.

Leave thine orphans, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.

יְתֹמֶ֖יךָ (יְתֹמֶ֖י) ye.to.Mei. “fatherless”

We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.

יְתוֹמִ֤ים ye.to.Mim “fatherless ones”

In thee have they made light of father and mother; in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger; in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.

יָת֥וֹם ya.Tom “fatherless one”

Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, [ergänzt: Thou art] our God; because in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.

and oppress not the widow and the fatherless, the stranger and the afflicted; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.

וְיָת֛וֹם (יָת֛וֹם) ya.Tom “[the] fatherless”

And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against the false swearers, and against those that oppress the hired servant in [ergänzt: his] wages, the widow and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger [ergänzt: from his right], and fear not me, saith Jehovah of hosts.
