G4046–περιποιέω–peripoieō

Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it, and whosoever shall lose it shall preserve it.

περιποιήσασθαι peripoiēsasthai “to gain”

Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock, wherein the Holy Spirit has set you as overseers, to shepherd the assembly of God, which he has purchased with the blood of his own.

περιεποιήσατο periepoiēsato “He purchased”

for those who shall have ministered well obtain for themselves a good degree, and much boldness in faith which [ergänzt: is] in Christ Jesus.
