H0653–אֲפֵלָה–a.phe.lah

And Moses stretched out his hand toward the heavens; and there was a thick darkness throughout the land of Egypt three days:

אֲפֵלָ֛ה 'a.fe.Lah “darkness”

and thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways; and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled continually, and there shall be none to save.

בָּאֲפֵלָ֔ה (אֲפֵלָ֔ה) 'a.fe.Lah “darkness”

The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

כָּֽאֲפֵלָ֑ה (אֲפֵלָ֑ה) 'a.fe.Lah “darkness”

in the twilight, in the evening of the day, in the blackness of night and the darkness.

וַאֲפֵלָֽה׃ (אֲפֵלָֽה) 'a.fe.Lah “darkness”

and they will look to the earth; and behold, trouble and darkness, gloom of anguish; and they shall be driven into thick darkness.

וַאֲפֵלָ֖ה (אֲפֵלָ֖ה) 'a.fe.Lah “gloom”

and thou proffer thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul: then shall thy light rise in the darkness, and thine obscurity be as midday;

וַאֲפֵלָתְךָ֖ (אֲפֵלָתְ) 'a.fe.la.te. “gloom”

Therefore is justice far from us, and righteousness overtaketh us not: we wait for light, and behold darkness; for brightness, [supplied: but] we walk in obscurity.

בָּאֲפֵל֥וֹת (אֲפֵל֥וֹת) 'a.fe.Lot “gloom<s>”

Therefore their way shall be unto them as slippery places in the darkness; they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them in the year of their visitation, saith Jehovah.

בָּֽאֲפֵלָ֔ה (אֲפֵלָ֔ה) 'a.fe.Lah “darkness”

a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and gross darkness, as the dawn spread upon the mountains; -- a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after them, to the years of generations and generations.

וַאֲפֵלָ֗ה (אֲפֵלָ֗ה) 'a.fe.Lah “gloom”

That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of ruin and desolation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and gross darkness,
