Then set it empty upon its coals, that it may be hot, and the brass of it may burn, and that its filthiness may be molten in it, [ergänzt: and] that its rust may be consumed.

וְהַעֲמִידֶ֥הָ (הָ) ha “it”

She hath exhausted [ergänzt: her] labours, yet her great rust goeth not forth out of her: let her rust be in the fire.

מִמֶּ֙נָּה֙ (נָּה֙) nah “it”

unto the children of the east, with [ergänzt: the land of] the children of Ammon; and I will give it them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations:

וּנְתַתִּ֖יהָ (הָ) ha “it”

therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also stretch out my hand upon Edom; and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and unto Dedan shall they fall by the sword.

מִמֶּ֖נָּה (נָּה) nah “it”וּנְתַתִּ֤יהָ (הָ) ha “it”

And they shall destroy the walls of Tyre, and break down her towers. And I will scrape her dust from her, and make her a bare rock.

מִמֶּ֑נָּה (נָּה) nah “it”אוֹתָ֖הּ (הּ) h “it”

Son of man, set thy face towards Zidon, and prophesy against it,

עָלֶֽיהָ׃ (הָ) ha “it”

and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, Zidon, and I will be glorified in the midst of thee; and they shall know that I [ergänzt: am] Jehovah, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be hallowed in her.

בָ֛הּ (הּ) h “it”בָֽהּ׃ (הּ) h “it”

And I will send into her the pestilence, and blood in her streets; and the wounded shall fall in the midst of her, by the sword upon her on every side: and they shall know that I [ergänzt: am] Jehovah.

בָ֞הּ (הּ) h “it”עָלֶ֖יהָ (הָ) ha “it”

They shall dwell in it in safety, and shall build houses and plant vineyards; and they shall dwell in safety, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despised them round about them: and they shall know that I [ergänzt: am] Jehovah their God.

עָלֶיהָ֮ (הָ֮) Ha “it”

No foot of man shall pass through it, nor shall foot of beast pass through it, nor shall it be inhabited, forty years.

בָּהּ֙ (הּ֙) h “it”בָּ֑הּ (הּ) h “it”

Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon caused his army to do hard service against Tyre; every head was made bald, and every shoulder was peeled: yet had he from Tyre no wages, nor his army, for the service that he had served against it.

עָלֶֽיהָ׃ (הָ) ha “it”

I have given him the land of Egypt for his labour wherewith he served against it, because they wrought for me, saith the Lord Jehovah.

בָּ֔הּ (הּ) h “it”

Thus saith Jehovah: They also that uphold Egypt shall fall; and the pride of her strength shall come down: from Migdol to Syene shall they fall in her by the sword, saith the Lord Jehovah.

בָ֔הּ (הּ) h “it”

And they shall know that I [ergänzt: am] Jehovah, when I have set a fire in Egypt, and all her helpers shall be broken.

עֹזְרֶֽיהָ׃ (הָ) ha “its”

And at Tehaphnehes the day shall be darkened, when I break there the yokes of Egypt, and the pride of her strength shall cease in her; as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity.

בָּ֖הּ (הּ) h “it”יְכַסֶּ֔נָּה (נָּה) nah “it”

Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and behold, it shall not be bound up to apply remedies, to put a bandage to bind it, to make it strong to hold the sword.

לְחָבְשָׁ֥הּ (הּ) h “it”לְחָזְקָ֖הּ (הּ) h “it”

And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down; and they shall know that I [ergänzt: am] Jehovah, when I have put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall have stretched it out upon the land of Egypt.

אוֹתָ֖הּ (הּ) h “it”

When I shall make the land of Egypt a desolation, and the country shall be left desolate of all that was in it, when I have smitten all them that dwell therein, then shall they know that I [ergänzt: am] Jehovah.

בָ֑הּ (הּ) h “it”

It is a lamentation, and [ergänzt: thus] they shall lament her: the daughters of the nations shall say it in lamenting; they shall say it in lamenting over Egypt and over all her multitude, saith the Lord Jehovah.

וְק֣וֹנְנ֔וּהָ (הָ) ha “it”אוֹתָ֑הּ (הּ) h “it”אוֹתָ֔הּ (הּ) h “it”

Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down, her and the daughters of the famous nations, unto the lower parts of the earth, with them that go down into the pit.

א֠וֹתָהּ (הּ) h “it”

They shall fall in the midst of them that are slain by the sword. The sword hath been given: draw her out, and all her multitudes.

אוֹתָ֖הּ (הּ) h “it”

They have set him a bed in the midst of the slain, with all his multitude: their graves are round about him, all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword, though their terror was caused in the land of the living; and they have borne their confusion with them that go down to the pit: he is put in the midst of them that are slain.

לָהּ֙ (הּ֙) h “it”

Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take one man from among them all, and set him for their watchman:

עָלֶ֖יהָ (הָ) ha “it”

But if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

מִמֶּ֔נָּה (נָּה) nah “it”

And thou, son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live thereby in the day that he sinneth.
