Who will take me into the strong town? who will be my guide into Edom?

יֹ֭בִלֵנִי (נִי) ni “me”נָחַ֣נִי (נִי) ni “me”

From the end of the earth will I send up my cry to you, when my heart is overcome: take me to the rock which is over-high for me.

מִמֶּ֣נִּי (נִּי) ni “me”תַנְחֵֽנִי׃ (נִי) ni “me”

For you have been my secret place, and my high tower from those who made war on me.

לִ֑י (י) i “me”

So will I make songs in praise of your name for ever, giving to God that which is right day by day.

לְֽשַׁלְּמִ֥י (י) i “I”

Because you have been my help, I will have joy in the shade of your wings.

לִּ֑י (י) i “me”

My soul keeps ever near you: your right hand is my support.

בִּ֝֗י (י) i “me”

Keep me safe from the secret purpose of wrongdoers; from the band of the workers of evil;

תַּ֭סְתִּירֵנִי (נִי) ni “me”

Evils have overcome us: but as for our sins, you will take them away.

מֶ֑נִּי (י) ni “me”

Keeping the word which came from my lips, and which my mouth said, when I was in trouble.

לִֽי׃ (י) i “me”

Praise be to God who has not taken away his good faith and his mercy from me.

מֵאִתִּֽי׃ (י) i “me”

Be my saviour, O God; because the waters have come in, even to my neck.

הוֹשִׁיעֵ֥נִי (נִי) ni “me”

My feet are deep in the soft earth, where there is no support; I have come into deep waters, the waves are flowing over me.

שְׁטָפָֽתְנִי׃ (נִי) ni “me”

Those who have hate for me without cause are greater in number than the hairs of my head; those who are against me, falsely desiring my destruction, are very strong; I gave back what I had not taken away.

שֹׂנְאַ֪י (י) i “me”מַ֭צְמִיתַי (י) i “me”

Let not those who have hope in you be put to shame because of me, O Lord God of armies: let not those who are waiting for you be made low because of me, O God of Israel.

בִ֨י׀ (י) i “me”בִ֣י (י) i “me”

I am on fire with passion for your house; and the hard things which are said about you have come on me.

אֲכָלָ֑תְנִי (נִי) ni “me”עָלָֽי׃ (י) i “me”

My bitter weeping, and my going without food, were turned to my shame.

לִֽי׃ (י) i “me”

I am a cause of wonder to those in authority; a song to those who are given to strong drink.

בִ֭י (י) i “me”

But as for me, let my prayer be made to you, O Lord, at a time when you are pleased; O God, give me an answer in your great mercy, for your salvation is certain.

עֲ֝נֵ֗נִי (נִי) ni “me”

Take me from the grip of the sticky earth, so that I may not go down into it; let me be lifted up from the deep waters.

הַצִּילֵ֣נִי (נִי) ni “me”מִ֝שֹּֽׂנְאַ֗י (י) i “me”

Let me not be covered by the flowing waters; let not the deep waters go over my head, and let me not be shut up in the underworld.

תִּשְׁטְפֵ֤נִי׀ (נִי) ni “me”תִּבְלָעֵ֣נִי (נִי) ni “me”עָלַ֖י (י) i “me”

Give an answer to my words, O Lord; for your mercy is good: be turned to me, because of your great pity.

עֲנֵ֣נִי (נִי) ni “me”אֵלָֽי׃ (י) i “me”

Let not your face be covered from your servant, for I am in trouble; quickly give me an answer.

לִ֝֗י (י) i “me”עֲנֵֽנִי׃ (נִי) ni “me”

Come near to my soul, for its salvation: be my saviour, because of those who are against me.

פְּדֵֽנִי׃ (נִי) ni “me”

You have seen my shame, how I was laughed at and made low; my haters are all before you.

צוֹרְרָֽי׃ (י) i “my”

They gave me poison for my food; and bitter wine for my drink.

יַשְׁק֥וּנִי (נִי) ni “me”
