And behold, I will send the lad, [ergänzt: saying,] Go, find the arrows. If I expressly say to the lad, Behold, the arrows are on this side of thee, take them; then come, for there is peace for thee, and it is nothing; [ergänzt: as] Jehovah liveth.

וָבֹ֛אָה (ה) h “!”

And Jonathan cried after the lad, Make speed, haste, stay not! And Jonathan's lad gathered up the arrows, and came to his master.

ח֖וּשָׁה (ה) h “!”

And now what is under thy hand? give me five loaves in my hand, or what may be found.

תְּנָ֣ה (ה) h “!”

Abide with me, fear not; for he that seeks my life seeks thy life; for with me thou art in safe keeping.

שְׁבָ֤ה (ה) h “!”

And when David knew that Saul devised mischief against him, he said to Abiathar the priest, Bring the ephod.

הַגִּ֖ישָׁה (ה) h “!”

But there came a messenger to Saul, saying, Haste thee and come; for the Philistines have made a raid against the land.

מַהֲרָ֣ה (ה) h “!”וְלֵ֔כָה (ה) h “!”

Swear now therefore to me by Jehovah, that thou wilt not cut off my seed after me, and that thou wilt not destroy my name out of my father's house.

הִשָּׁ֤בְעָה (ה) h “!”

Ask thy young men, and they will tell thee. Therefore let the young men find favour in thine eyes; for we come in a good day: give, I pray thee, what thy hand may find to thy servants, and to thy son David.

תְּנָה־ (ה) h- “!”

And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul said, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answers me no more, neither by prophets nor by dreams; therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known to me what I shall do.

וָאֶקְרָאֶ֣ה (ה) h “!”

And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, Bring near to me, I pray thee, the ephod. And Abiathar brought the ephod near to David.

הַגִּֽישָׁה־ (ה) h- “!”

And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this troop? And he said, Swear to me by God, that thou wilt neither put me to death nor deliver me up into the hand of my master, and I will bring thee down to this troop.

הִשָּׁבְעָה֩ (ה֩) h “!”

And Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, Whose is the land? saying [ergänzt: also], Make thy covenant with me, and behold, my hand shall be with thee, to turn all Israel to thee.

כָּרְתָ֤ה (ה) h “!”

And David sent messengers to Ishbosheth Saul's son, saying, Deliver me my wife Michal, whom I espoused to me for a hundred foreskins of the Philistines.

תְּנָ֤ה (ה) h “!”

when one told me, saying, Behold, Saul is dead! and he was in his own sight a messenger of good, I took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag -- to whom forsooth I should give a reward for his good tidings:

וָאֹחֲזָ֣ה (ה) h “!”

and I have been with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are on the earth.

וָאַכְרִ֥תָה (ה) h “!”

and I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if [ergänzt: that] had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things.

וָאֶתְּנָ֨ה (ה) h “!”וָאֶתְּנָ֣ה (ה) h “!”

And the woman of Tekoah spoke to the king, and she fell on her face to the ground and did obeisance, and said, Save, O king!

הוֹשִׁ֥עָה (ה) h “!”

And the king said to Zadok the priest, Thou art the seer: return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz thy son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar.

שֻׁ֥בָה (ה) h “!”

And I was upright before him, And kept myself from mine iniquity.

וָאֶשְׁתַּמְּרָ֖ה (ה) h “!”

And the king said to the man of God, Come home with me, and refresh thyself, and I will give thee a present.

בֹּאָה־ (ה) h- “!”וּֽסְעָ֑דָה (ה) h “!”

There is a league between me and thee, [ergänzt: as] between my father and thy father; behold, I send thee a present of silver and gold: go, break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.

הָפֵ֗רָה (ה) h “!”

And Ahab spoke to Naboth saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, for it is near, by the side of my house; and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; if it seem good to thee, I will give thee its value in money.

תְּנָה־ (ה) h- “!”

And he said to her, Because I spoke to Naboth the Jizreelite and said to him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee a vineyard for it; and he said, I will not give thee my vineyard.

Then the king of Israel called a chamberlain, and said, Fetch quickly Micah the son of Imlah.

מַהֲרָ֖ה (ה) h “!”

And he sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him, and behold, he sat on the top of the mount. And he spoke to him: Man of God, the king says, Come down!
