Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith Jehovah; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith Jehovah, and work: for I am with you, saith Jehovah of hosts,

הַכֹּהֵ֨ן (הַ) ha. “the”הַגָּד֜וֹל (הַ) ha. “<the>”הָאָ֛רֶץ (הָ) ha. “the”

[ergänzt: according to] the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, and my Spirit abode among you: fear ye not.

הַדָּבָ֞ר (הַ) ha. “the”

For thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;

הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם (הַ) ha. “the”הָאָ֔רֶץ (הָ) ha. “the”הַיָּ֖ם (הַ) hai. “the”הֶחָרָבָֽה׃ (הֶ) he. “the”

and I will shake all nations; and the precious things of all nations shall come; and I will fill this house with glory, saith Jehovah of hosts.

הַגּוֹיִ֔ם (הַ) ha. “the”הַגּוֹיִ֑ם (הַ) ha. “the”הַבַּ֤יִת (הַ) ha. “the”הַזֶּה֙ (הַ) ha. “<the>”

The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith Jehovah of hosts.

הַכֶּ֖סֶף (הַ) ha. “the”הַזָּהָ֑ב (הַ) ha. “the”

The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, saith Jehovah of hosts; and in this place will I give peace, saith Jehovah of hosts.

הַבַּ֨יִת (הַ) ha. “the”הַזֶּ֤ה (הַ) ha. “<the>”הָאַֽחֲרוֹן֙ (הָ) ha. “<the>”הָ֣רִאשׁ֔וֹן (הָ֣) ha. “the”הַזֶּה֙ (הַ) ha. “<the>”

In the four and twentieth [ergänzt: day] of the ninth [ergänzt: month], in the second year of Darius, came the word of Jehovah by Haggai the prophet, saying,

הַנָּבִ֖יא (הַ) ha. “the”

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying,

הַכֹּהֲנִ֛ים (הַ) ha. “the”

If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any food, shall it become holy? And the priests answered and said, No.

הַלֶּ֨חֶם (הַ) ha. “<the>”הַנָּזִ֜יד (הַ) ha. “<the>”הַיַּ֧יִן (הַ) hai. “<the>”הַכֹּהֲנִ֛ים (הַ) ha. “the”

Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by reason of a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.

הַכֹּהֲנִ֛ים (הַ) ha. “the”

Then answered Haggai and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith Jehovah; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.

הָֽעָם־ (הָֽ) ha. “the”הַ֠זֶּה (הַ֠) Ha. “<the>”הַגּ֨וֹי (הַ) ha. “the”הַזֶּ֤ה (הַ) ha. “<the>”

And now, I pray you, consider from this day and backward, before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of Jehovah.

הַיּ֥וֹם (הַ) hai. “the”הַזֶּ֖ה (הַ) ha. “<the>”

Through all that time, when one came to a heap of twenty [ergänzt: measures], there were but ten; when one came to the winevat to draw out fifty [ergänzt: vessels], there were but twenty.

הַיֶּ֗קֶב (הַ) hai. “the”

Consider, I pray you, from this day and backward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth [ergänzt: month], since the day that the foundation of Jehovah's temple was laid, consider it.

הַיּ֥וֹם (הַ) hai. “the”הַזֶּ֖ה (הַ) ha. “<the>”הַיּ֛וֹם (הַ) hai. “the”

Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, the vine, and the fig-tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive-tree have not brought forth; from this day will I bless [ergänzt: you].

Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth;

הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם (הַ) ha. “the”הָאָֽרֶץ׃ (הָ) ha. “the”

and I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms; and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.

הַגּוֹיִ֑ם (הַ) ha. “the”

In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith Jehovah, and will make thee as a signet; for I have chosen thee, saith Jehovah of hosts.

הַה֣וּא (הַ) ha. “<the>”

In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of Jehovah unto Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, the prophet, saying,

הַשְּׁמִינִ֔י (הַ) ha. “<the>”הַנָּבִ֖יא (הַ) ha. “the”

Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets cried, saying, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, Return ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith Jehovah.

הַנְּבִיאִ֨ים (הַ) ha. “the”הָרִֽאשֹׁנִ֜ים (הָ) ha. “<the>”הָרָעִ֔ים (הָ) ha. “<the>”הָֽרָעִ֑ים (הָֽ) ha. “<the>”

Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?

וְהַ֨נְּבִאִ֔ים (הַ֨) Ha. “the”

But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? and they turned and said, Like as Jehovah of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.

Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Shebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of Jehovah unto Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, the prophet, saying,

I saw in the night, and, behold, a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle-trees that were in the bottom; and behind him there were horses, red, sorrel, and white.

Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will show thee what these are.
