And his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand: Asaph, the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea,

הָעֹמֵ֖ד (הָ) ha. “who”

And their brethren the sons of Merari were on the left hand: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,

הַשְּׂמֹ֑אול (הַ) ha. “the”

And their brethren the Levites were given for all the service of the tabernacle of the house of God.

הַלְוִיִּ֑ם (הַ) ha “the”הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ (הָ) ha. “<the>”

And Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt-offering, and on the altar of incense, for all the work of the most holy place, and to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

And these are their dwelling-places according to their encampments, within their borders. For the sons of Aaron, of the family of the Kohathites, for theirs was the lot;

but the fields of the city, and the hamlets thereof gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

And to the children of Aaron they gave the city of refuge, Hebron; and Libnah and its suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa and its suburbs,

And to the children of Kohath that remained [ergänzt: were given] by lot out of the families of the tribe [ergänzt: of Ephraim and of the tribe of Dan and] of the half tribe, half Manasseh, ten cities.

הַנּוֹתָרִ֗ים (הַ) ha. “which”הַמַּטֶּ֡ה (הַ) ha. “the”

And the children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities and their suburbs.

הֶעָרִ֖ים (הֶ) he. “the”

And they gave by lot out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, these cities which were mentioned by name.

הֶעָרִ֣ים (הֶ) he. “the”הָאֵ֔לֶּה (הָ) ha. “<the>”

they gave the city of refuge, Shechem and its suburbs in mount Ephraim; and Gezer and its suburbs,

הַמִּקְלָ֛ט (הַ) ha. “<the>”

and out of the half tribe of Manasseh: Aner and its suburbs, and Bileam and its suburbs, -- for the families of the children of Kohath that remained.

הַנּוֹתָרִֽים׃ (הַ) ha. “which”

To the children of Merari that remained [ergänzt: were given] out of the tribe of Zebulun, Rimmono and its suburbs, [ergänzt: and] Tabor and its suburbs;

הַנּוֹתָרִים֒ (הַ) ha. “which”

and on the other side of the Jordan by Jericho, on the east side of the Jordan, out of the tribe of Reuben: Bezer in the wilderness and its suburbs, and Jahzah and its suburbs,

הַיַּרְדֵּן֒ (הַ) hai. “the”

All these were the sons of Jediael, by the heads of their fathers, mighty men of valour, seventeen thousand two hundred, fit for service for war.

הָאָב֔וֹת (הָ) ha. “the”

The sons of Manasseh: Asriel, ... whom she bore; his Syrian concubine bore Machir the father of Gilead.

הָֽאֲרַמִּיָּ֔ה (הָֽ) ha. “<the>”

And Machir took a wife [ergänzt: the sister] of Huppim and Shuppim, and the name of their sister was Maachah. And the name of the second [ergänzt: son] was Zelophehad; and Zelophehad had daughters.

and Zabad his son, and Shuthelah his son, and Ezer, and Elad. And the men of Gath born in the land slew them, because they came down to take their cattle.

הַנּוֹלָדִ֣ים (הַ) ha. “who”

And his daughter was Sheerah; and she built Beth-horon the nether, and the upper, and Uzzen-sheerah.

All these were the sons of Asher, heads of fathers' houses, choice men, mighty of valour, chiefs of the princes. And their number according to their genealogy, registered as fit for service for war, was twenty-six thousand men.

And Benjamin begot Bela his firstborn, Ashbel the second, and Aharah the third,

Nohah the fourth, and Rapha the fifth.

and Beriah, and Shema, who were chief fathers of the inhabitants of Ajalon; they drove away the inhabitants of Gath.

הָאָב֔וֹת (הָ) ha. “the”

And his son, the firstborn, was Abdon; and Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Nadab,

הַבְּכ֖וֹר (הַ) ha. “the”

And the sons of Eshek his brother were Ulam his firstborn, Jeush the second, and Eliphelet the third.
