And ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, who is guilty of death, but he shall certainly be put to death.

לְנֶ֣פֶשׁ (לְ) le. “for”לָמ֑וּת (לָ) la. “to”

And ye shall take no satisfaction for him that hath fled to the city of his refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.

לָנ֖וּס (לָ) la. “to”לָשׁוּב֙ (לָ) la. “to”לָשֶׁ֣בֶת (לָ) la. “to”

And ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are; for blood, it polluteth the land; and there can be no atonement made for the land, for the blood that hath been shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.

וְלָאָ֣רֶץ (לָ) la. “for the”לַדָּם֙ (לַ) la. “to the”

And the chief fathers of families of the sons of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spoke before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel:

לְמִשְׁפַּ֤חַת (לְ) le. “of”לִפְנֵ֤י (לִ) li “<to>”וְלִפְנֵ֣י (לִ) li “<to>”לִבְנֵ֥י (לִ) li “of”

and they said, Jehovah commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel; and my lord was commanded by Jehovah to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.

לָתֵ֨ת (לָ) la. “to”לִבְנֵ֣י (לִ) li “to”לָתֵ֗ת (לָ) la. “to”לִבְנֹתָֽיו׃ (לִ) li “to”

Now if they be married to any of the sons of the [ergänzt: other] tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they shall belong; and it shall be taken from the lot of our inheritance.

לְאֶחָ֞ד (לְ) le. “to”לְנָשִׁים֒ (לְ) le. “to”לָהֶ֑ם (לָ) la. “to <the>”

And when the jubilee of the children of Israel shall come, then shall their inheritance be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they shall belong; and their inheritance shall be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.

And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of Jehovah, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well.

לֵאמֹ֑ר (לֵ) le. “<to>”

This is the thing which Jehovah hath commanded concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry whom they please; only they shall marry one of the tribe of their father,

לִבְנ֤וֹת (לִ) li “of”לֵאמֹ֔ר (לֵ) le. “<to>”לַטּ֥וֹב (לַ) la. “to the”לְנָשִׁ֑ים (לְ) le. “to”לְמִשְׁפַּ֛חַת (לְ) le. “to”לְנָשִֽׁים׃ (לְ) le. “to”

that no inheritance of the children of Israel pass from tribe to tribe; for every one of the children of Israel shall keep to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.

לִבְנֵ֣י (לִ) li “of”

And every daughter that possesseth an inheritance among the tribes of the children of Israel, shall be married to one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may possess every one the inheritance of his fathers,

לְאֶחָ֗ד (לְ) le. “to”לְאִשָּׁ֑ה (לְ) le. “to”

and the inheritance shall not pass from one tribe to another tribe; for each of the tribes of the children of Israel shall keep to his inheritance.

לְמַטֶּ֣ה (לְ) le. “to”

and Mahlah, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married unto their uncles' sons.

לִבְנֵ֥י (לִ) li “to”לְנָשִֽׁים׃ (לְ) le. “to”

To those that were of the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph were they married; and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.

לְנָשִׁ֑ים (לְ) le. “<into>”

And it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first of the month, that Moses spoke to the children of Israel, according to all that Jehovah had given him in command to them;

לַחֹ֑דֶשׁ (לַ) la. “of the”

On this side the Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses to unfold this law, saying,

לֵאמֹֽר׃ (לֵ) le. “<to>”

Jehovah our God spoke unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have stayed long enough in this mountain.

לֵאמֹ֑ר (לֵ) le. “<to>”לָכֶ֥ם (לָ) la. “for”

Turn and take your journey, and go to the hill-country of the Amorites, and unto all the neighbouring places in the plain, in the mountain, and in the lowland, and in the south, and by the seaside, the land of the Canaanites, and Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates.

Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which Jehovah swore unto your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.

לִפְנֵיכֶ֖ם (לִ) li “<to>”לַאֲבֹ֨תֵיכֶ֜ם (לַ) la. “to”לְאַבְרָהָ֨ם (לְ) le. “to”לְיִצְחָ֤ק (לְ) le. “to”וּֽלְיַעֲקֹב֙ (לְ) le. “to”לָתֵ֣ת (לָ) la. “to”לָהֶ֔ם (לָ) la. “to”וּלְזַרְעָ֖ם (לְ) le. “to”

And I spoke unto you at that time, saying, I am not able to bear you myself alone.

לֵאמֹ֑ר (לֵ) le. “<to>”לְבַדִּ֖י (לְ) le. “to”

Jehovah your God hath multiplied you, and behold, ye are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude.

לָרֹֽב׃ (לָ) la. “for”

Jehovah, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times so many more as ye are, and bless you as he hath said unto you!

לָכֶֽם׃ (לָ) la. “to”

How can I myself alone sustain your wear, and your burden, and your strife?

לְבַדִּ֑י (לְ) le. “to”

Provide you wise and understanding and known men, according to your tribes, that I may make them your chiefs.

לָ֠כֶם (לָ֠) La. “for”לְשִׁבְטֵיכֶ֑ם (לְ) le. “to”

And ye answered me, and said, The thing that thou hast spoken is good [ergänzt: for us] to do.
