These are the sons of Dan, after their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan after their families.

לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֔ם (לְ) le. “to”לְשׁוּחָ֕ם (לְ) le. “of”לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃ (לְ) le. “to”

All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those that were numbered of them, were sixty-four thousand four hundred.

לִפְקֻדֵיהֶ֑ם (לִ) li “to”

The sons of Asher, after their families: of Jimnah, the family of the Jimnites; of Jishvi, the family of the Jishvites; of Beriah, the family of the Beriites.

לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם֒ (לְ) le. “to”לְיִמְנָ֗ה (לְ) le. “of”לְיִשְׁוִ֕י (לְ) le. “of”לִבְרִיעָ֕ה (לִ) li “of”

Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites; of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.

לִבְנֵ֣י (לִ) li “of”לְחֶ֕בֶר (לְ) le. “of”לְמַ֨לְכִּיאֵ֔ל (לְ) le. “of”

These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those that were numbered of them, fifty-three thousand four hundred.

לִפְקֻדֵיהֶ֑ם (לִ) li “to”

The sons of Naphtali, after their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites; of Guni, the family of the Gunites;

לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֔ם (לְ) le. “to”לְיַ֨חְצְאֵ֔ל (לְ) le. “of”לְגוּנִ֕י (לְ) le. “of”

of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.

לְיֵ֕צֶר (לְ) le. “of”לְשִׁלֵּ֕ם (לְ) le. “of”

These are the families of Naphtali, according to their families; and they that were numbered of them were forty-five thousand four hundred.

לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֑ם (לְ) le. “to”

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

לֵּאמֹֽר׃ (לֵּ) le. “<to>”

Unto these shall the land be divided for an inheritance according to the number of the names;

לָאֵ֗לֶּה (לָ) la. “to”

to the many thou shalt increase their inheritance, and to the few thou shalt diminish their inheritance; to every one shall his inheritance be given according to those that were numbered of him.

לָרַ֗ב (לָ) la. “for the”וְלַמְעַ֕ט (לַ) la “for the”לְפִ֣י (לְ) le. “to”

Notwithstanding the land shall be divided by lot; according to the names of the tribes of their fathers shall they inherit;

לִשְׁמ֥וֹת (לִ) li “to”

according to lot shall his inheritance be divided to each, be they many or few in number.

לִמְעָֽט׃ (לִ) li “and”

And these are the numbered of the Levites, after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites.

לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם֒ (לְ) le. “to”לְגֵרְשׁ֗וֹן (לְ) le. “of”לִקְהָ֕ת (לִ) li “of”לִמְרָרִ֕י (לִ) li “of”

And the name of Amram's wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt; and she bore to Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.

לְלֵוִ֖י (לְ) le. “to”לְעַמְרָ֗ם (לְ) le. “to”

And to Aaron were born Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

לְאַהֲרֹ֔ן (לְ) le. “to”

And Nadab and Abihu died, when they presented strange fire before Jehovah.

לִפְנֵ֥י (לִ) li “<to>”

And those that were numbered of the [ergänzt: Levites] were twenty-three thousand, all males from a month old and upward; for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel.

לָהֶם֙ (לָ) la. “to <the>”

For Jehovah had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

לָהֶ֔ם (לָ) la. “of <the>”

Then drew near the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph; and these were the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah.

לְמִשְׁפְּחֹ֖ת (לְ) le. “of”

And they stood before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes and the whole assembly, at the entrance of the tent of meeting, saying,

לִפְנֵ֣י (לִ) li “<to>”וְלִפְנֵי֙ (לִ) li “<to>”וְלִפְנֵ֥י (לִ) li “<to>”לֵאמֹֽר׃ (לֵ) le. “<to>”

Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not in the band of them that banded themselves together against Jehovah in the band of Korah; but he died in his own sin, and he had no sons.

לֽוֹ׃ (לֽ) l “to <the>”

Why should the name of our father be taken away from his family, because he has no son? Give unto us a possession among the brethren of our father.

לָ֣מָּה (לָ֣) La. “<to>”ל֖וֹ (ל֖) l “[belonged] to <the>”לָּ֣נוּ (לָּ֣) La. “to <the>”

And Moses brought their cause before Jehovah.

לִפְנֵ֥י (לִ) li “<to>”

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

לֵּאמֹֽר׃ (לֵּ) le. “<to>”
