And their charge was the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the altars, and the utensils of the sanctuary with which they ministered, and the curtain, and all that belongs to its service.

וּמִשְׁמַרְתָּ֗ם (וּ) u. “and”וְהַשֻּׁלְחָן֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְהַמְּנֹרָ֣ה (וְ) ve. “and”וְהַֽמִּזְבְּחֹ֔ת (וְ) ve. “and”וּכְלֵ֣י (וּ) u. “and”וְהַ֨מָּסָ֔ךְ (וְ) ve. “and”וְכֹ֖ל (וְ) ve. “and”

And the prince of princes of the Levites was Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest: he had the oversight of them that kept the charge of the sanctuary.

וּנְשִׂיא֙ (וּ) u. “and”

Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites, and the family of the Mushites: these are the families of Merari.

וּמִשְׁפַּ֖חַת (וּ) u. “and”

And those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand two hundred.

וּפְקֻדֵיהֶם֙ (וּ) u. “and”וָמָ֑עְלָה (וָ) va. “and”וּמָאתָֽיִם׃ (וּ) u. “and”

And the prince of the father's house of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail. They encamped on the side of the tabernacle northward.

וּנְשִׂ֤יא (וּ) u. “and”

And the charge of the sons of Merari consisted in the oversight of the boards of the tabernacle, and its bars, and its pillars, and its bases, and all its furniture, and all that belongs to its service,

וּפְקֻדַּ֣ת (וּ) u. “and”וּבְרִיחָ֖יו (וּ) u. “and”וְעַמֻּדָ֣יו (וְ) ve. “and”וַאֲדָנָ֑יו (וַ) va. “and”וְכָל־ (וְ) ve. “and”וְכֹ֖ל (וְ) ve. “and”

and the pillars of the court round about, and their bases, and their pegs, and their cords.

וְעַמֻּדֵ֧י (וְ) ve. “and”וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֑ם (וְ) ve. “and”וִיתֵדֹתָ֖ם (וִ) vi. “and”וּמֵֽיתְרֵיהֶֽם׃ (וּ) u. “and”

And those who encamped before the tabernacle eastward, before the tent of meeting toward the sunrising, were Moses, and Aaron and his sons, who kept the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh near shall be put to death.

וְהַחֹנִ֣ים (וְ) ve. “and”וְאַהֲרֹ֣ן (וְ) ve. “and”וּבָנָ֗יו (וּ) u. “and”וְהַזָּ֥ר (וְ) ve. “and”

All that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of Jehovah, according to their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty-two thousand.

וְׄאַׄהֲׄרֹ֛ׄןׄ (וְׄ) ve. “and”וָמַ֔עְלָה (וָ) va. “and”וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים (וְ) ve. “and”

And Jehovah said to Moses, Number all the first-born males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.

וָמָ֑עְלָה (וָ) va. “and”וְשָׂ֕א (וְ) ve. “and”

And thou shalt take the Levites for me (I am Jehovah) instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites, instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the children of Israel.

וְאֵת֙ (וְ) ve. “and”

And all the firstborn males, by the number of the names, from a month old and upward, according to their numbering, were twenty-two thousand two hundred and seventy-three.

וָמַ֖עְלָה (וָ) va. “and”וְעֶשְׂרִים֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְשִׁבְעִ֖ים (וְ) ve. “and”וּמָאתָֽיִם׃ (וּ) u. “and”

Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I am Jehovah.

וְאֶת־ (וְ) ve. “and”

And for those that are to be ransomed, the two hundred and seventy-three of the firstborn of the children of Israel, which are in excess over the Levites,

וְאֵת֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְהַשִּׁבְעִ֖ים (וְ) ve. “and”וְהַמָּאתָ֑יִם (וְ) ve. “and”

and thou shalt give the money unto Aaron and unto his sons for those in excess among them who are to be ransomed.

וּלְבָנָ֑יו (וּ) u. “and”

of the firstborn of the children of Israel he took the money, a thousand three hundred and sixty-five [ergänzt: shekels], according to the shekel of the sanctuary.

וְשִׁשִּׁ֜ים (וְ) ve. “and”וּשְׁלֹ֥שׁ (וּ) u. “and”וָאֶ֖לֶף (וָ) va. “and”

And Moses gave the money of them that were ransomed to Aaron and to his sons, according to the commandment of Jehovah, -- as Jehovah had commanded Moses.

וּלְבָנָ֖יו (וּ) u. “and”

And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

וְאֶֽל־ (וְ) ve. “and”

from thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, all that enter into the service, to do the work in the tent of meeting.

וָמַ֔עְלָה (וָ) va. “and”וְעַ֖ד (וְ) ve. “and”

And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron and his sons shall go in, and they shall take down the veil of separation and cover the ark of testimony with it;

וּבָנָיו֙ (וּ) u. “and”

And upon the table of shewbread they shall spread a cloth of blue; and put thereon the dishes, and the cups, and the bowls, and goblets of the drink-offering; and the continual bread shall be thereon.

וְעַ֣ל׀ (וְ) ve. “and”וְאֶת־ (וְ) ve. “and”וְאֶת־ (וְ) ve. “and”וְאֵ֖ת (וְ) ve. “and”וְלֶ֥חֶם (וְ) ve. “and”

And they shall take a cloth of blue, and cover the candlestick of the light, and its lamps, and its snuffers, and its snuff-trays, and all the oil vessels thereof, wherewith they perform its service;

וְאֶת־ (וְ) ve. “and”וְאֶת־ (וְ) ve. “and”וְאֶת־ (וְ) ve. “and”וְאֵת֙ (וְ) ve. “and”

and they shall put it and all the utensils thereof within a covering of badgers' skin, and shall put it upon a pole.

וְאֶת־ (וְ) ve. “and”

And upon the golden altar they shall spread a cloth of blue, and cover it with a covering of badgers' skin, and shall put its staves [ergänzt: to it].

וְעַ֣ל׀ (וְ) ve. “and”

and they shall put upon it all the utensils thereof, wherewith they perform service about it: the firepans, the forks, and the shovels, and the bowls, -- all the utensils of the altar; and they shall spread upon it a covering of badgers' skin, and put its staves [ergänzt: to it].
