I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.

וְצָפ֜וֹנָה (וְ) ve. “and”וָנֶ֗גְבָּה (וָ) va. “and”וְכָל־ (וְ) ve. “and”וְאֵ֥ין (וְ) ve. “and”

And as I was considering, behold, a he-goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.

וַאֲנִ֣י׀ (וַ) va. “and”וְהִנֵּ֤ה (וְ) ve. “and”וְאֵ֥ין (וְ) ve. “and”וְהַ֨צָּפִ֔יר (וְ) ve. “and”

And I saw him come close to the ram, and he was moved with anger against him, and smote the ram, and broke his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.

וְלֹא־ (וְ) ve. “and”וְלֹא־ (וְ) ve. “and”

Therefore the he-goat became very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and in its stead came up four notable ones towards the four winds of heaven.

וּצְפִ֥יר (וּ) u. “and”וּכְעָצְמ֗וֹ (וּ) u. “and”

And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which became exceeding great, towards the south, and towards the east, and towards the pleasant land.

וּמִן־ (וּ) u. “and”וְאֶל־ (וְ) ve. “and”וְאֶל־ (וְ) ve. “and”

And it grew great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.

וּמִן־ (וּ) u. “and”

Yes, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.

וְעַ֥ד (וְ) ve. “and”וּמִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ (וּ) u. “and”

And a host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered.

וְצָבָ֛א (וְ) ve. “and”וְתַשְׁלֵ֤ךְ (וְ) ve. “and”

Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said to that certain saint who spoke, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?

וְהַפֶּ֣שַׁע (וְ) ve. “and”וְקֹ֥דֶשׁ (וְ) ve. “and”וְצָבָ֖א (וְ) ve. “and”

And he said to me, Until two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

וּשְׁלֹ֣שׁ (וּ) u. “and”

And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.

וְהִנֵּ֛ה (וְ) ve. “and”

So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said to me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.

וּבְבֹא֣וֹ (וּ) u. “and”

Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face towards the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.

וּבְדַבְּר֣וֹ (וּ) u. “and”

The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.

וּפָרָֽס׃ (וּ) u. “and”

And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.

וְהַצָּפִ֥יר (וְ) ve. “and”וְהַקֶּ֤רֶן (וְ) ve. “and”

Now that being broken, whereas four stood up in its place, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.

וְהַ֨נִּשְׁבֶּ֔רֶת (וְ) ve. “and”וְלֹ֥א (וְ) ve. “and”

And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

וּֽבְאַחֲרִית֙ (וּֽ) u. “and”וּמֵבִ֥ין (וּ) u. “and”

And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

וְלֹ֣א (וְ) ve. “and”וְנִפְלָא֥וֹת (וְ) ve. “and”וְעַם־ (וְ) ve. “and”

And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

וְעַל־ (וְ) ve. “and”וּבִלְבָב֣וֹ (וּ) u. “and”וּבְשַׁלְוָ֖ה (וּ) u “and”וְעַ֤ל־ (וְ) ve. “and”וּבְאֶ֥פֶס (וּ) u. “and”

And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.

וּמַרְאֵ֨ה (וּ) u. “and”וְהַבֹּ֛קֶר (וְ) ve. “and”וְאַתָּה֙ (וְ) ve. “and”

And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.

וַאֲנִ֣י (וַ) va. “and”וְנֶֽחֱלֵ֙יתִי֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְאֵ֥ין (וְ) ve. “and”

And I set my face to the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:

וְתַחֲנוּנִ֑ים (וְ) ve. “and”וְשַׂ֥ק (וְ) ve. “and”וָאֵֽפֶר׃ (וָ) va. “and”

And I prayed to the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;

וְהַנּוֹרָ֔א (וְ) ve. “and”וְֽהַחֶ֔סֶד (וְֽ) ve. “and”וּלְשֹׁמְרֵ֥י (וּ) u. “and”

We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:

וְעָוִ֖ינוּ (וְ) ve. “and”וּמָרָ֑דְנוּ (וּ) u. “and”וְס֥וֹר (וְ) ve. “and”וּמִמִּשְׁפָּטֶֽיךָ׃ (וּ) u. “and”

Neither have we hearkened to thy servants the prophets, who spoke in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
