They shall also gird themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads.

וְאֶ֤ל (וְ) ve. “and”וּבְכָל־ (וּ) u. “and”

They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be as an unclean thing; their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD; they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels; be

וּזְהָבָם֮ (וּ) u. “and”וּזְהָבָ֜ם (וּ) u. “and”וּמֵעֵיהֶ֖ם (וּ) u. “and”

And as for the beauty of their ornament, which was set for a pride, they made the images of their abominations and their detestable things thereof; therefore have I made it unto them as an unclean thing.

וּצְבִ֤י (וּ) u. “and”וְצַלְמֵ֧י (וְ) ve. “and”

And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall profane it.

וּלְרִשְׁעֵ֥י (וּ) u. “and”

Make the chain; for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence.

וְהָעִ֖יר (וְ) ve. “and”

Horror cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.

וָאָֽיִן׃ (וָ) va. “and”

Calamity shall come upon calamity, and rumour shall be upon rumour; and they shall seek a vision of the prophet, and instruction shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the elders.

וּשְׁמֻעָ֥ה (וּ) u. “and”וְתוֹרָה֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְעֵצָ֖ה (וְ) ve. “and”

The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with appalment, and the hands of the people of the land shall be enfeebled; I will do unto them after their way, and according to their deserts will I judge them; and they shall know that I am the LOR

וְנָשִׂיא֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וִידֵ֥י (וִ) vi. “and”וּבְמִשְׁפְּטֵיהֶ֣ם (וּ) u. “and”

And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord GOD fell there upon me.

וְזִקְנֵ֥י (וְ) ve. “and”

Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins and downward, fire; and from his loins and upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the colour of electrum.

וְהִנֵּ֤ה (וְ) ve. “and”וּלְמַ֖טָּה (וּ) u. “and”וּמִמָּתְנָ֣יו (וּ) u. “and”וּלְמַ֔עְלָה (וּ) u. “and”

And the form of a hand was put forth, and I was taken by a lock of my head; and a spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the gate of the inner court that looketh toward the

And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.

וְהִ֨נֵּה־ (וְ) ve. “and”

Then said He unto me: 'Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north.' So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward of the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.

וְהִנֵּ֤ה (וְ) ve. “and”

And He said unto me: 'Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel do commit here, that I should go far off from My sanctuary? but thou shalt again see yet greater abominations.'

וְעוֹד֙ (וְ) ve. “and”

And He brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.

וְהִנֵּ֥ה (וְ) ve. “and”

Then said He unto me: 'Son of man, dig now in the wall'; and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.

וְהִנֵּ֖ה (וְ) ve. “and”

And He said unto me: 'Go in, and see the wicked abominations that they do here.'

וּרְאֵה֙ (וּ) u. “and”

So I went in and saw; and behold every detestable form of creeping things and beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed upon the wall round about.

וְהִנֵּ֨ה (וְ) ve. “and”וּבְהֵמָה֙ (וּ) u. “and”וְכָל־ (וְ) ve. “and”

And there stood before them seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, every man with his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.

וְשִׁבְעִ֣ים (וְ) ve. “and”וְיַאֲזַנְיָ֨הוּ (וְ) ve. “and”וְאִ֥ישׁ (וְ) ve. “and”וַעֲתַ֥ר (וַ) va. “and”

Then He brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD'S house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat the women weeping for Tammuz.

וְהִנֵּה־ (וְ) ve. “and”

And He brought me into the inner court of the LORD'S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the ea

וְהִנֵּה־ (וְ) ve. “and”וּבֵ֣ין (וּ) u. “and”וַחֲמִשָּׁ֖ה (וַ) va. “and”וּפְנֵיהֶ֣ם (וּ) u. “and”וְהֵ֛מָּה (וְ) ve. “and”

Then He said unto me: 'Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here in that they fill the land with violence, and provoke Me still more, and, lo, they put the branch

וְהִנָּ֛ם (וְ) ve. “and”

Therefore will I also deal in fury; Mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity; and though they cry in Mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.'

וְגַם־ (וְ) ve. “and”וְלֹ֣א (וְ) ve. “and”וְלֹ֥א (וְ) ve. “and”

Then he called in mine ears with a loud voice, saying: 'Cause ye them that have charge over the city to draw near, every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.'

וְאִ֛ישׁ (וְ) ve. “and”

And, behold, six men came from the way of the upper gate, which lieth toward the north, every man with his weapon of destruction in his hand; and one man in the midst of them clothed in linen, with a writer's inkhorn on his side. And they went in, and st
