How is the faithful city become a harlot! It was full of judgment; righteousness used to lodge in it, but now murderers.

וְעַתָּ֥ה (וְ) ve. “and”

thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves; every one loveth presents, and hunteth after rewards; they judge not the fatherless, and the cause of the widow cometh not unto them.

וְחַבְרֵי֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְרֹדֵ֖ף (וְ) ve. “and”וְרִ֥יב (וְ) ve. “and”

Therefore saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel: Ah! I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies.

וְאִנָּקְמָ֖ה (וְ) ve. “and”

And I will turn my hand upon thee, and will thoroughly purge away thy dross, and take away all thine alloy;

וְאָשִׁ֤יבָה (וְ) ve. “and”וְאֶצְרֹ֥ף (וְ) ve. “so”וְאָסִ֖ירָה (וְ) ve. “and”

and I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning. Afterwards thou shalt be called, Town of righteousness, Faithful city.

וְאָשִׁ֤יבָה (וְ) ve. “and”וְיֹעֲצַ֖יִךְ (וְ) ve. “and”

Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and they that return of her with righteousness.

וְשָׁבֶ֖יהָ (וְ) ve. “and”

But the ruin of the transgressors and of the sinners [ergänzt: shall be] together; and they that forsake Jehovah shall be consumed.

וְשֶׁ֧בֶר (וְ) ve. “and”וְחַטָּאִ֖ים (וְ) ve. “and”וְעֹזְבֵ֥י (וְ) ve. “and”

For they shall be ashamed of the terebinths that ye have desired, and ye shall blush for the gardens that ye have chosen.

וְתַ֨חְפְּר֔וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

For ye shall be as a terebinth whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.

וּֽכְגַנָּ֔ה (וּֽ) u. “and”

And the strong shall be for tow, and his work a spark; and they shall both burn together, and there shall be none to quench [ergänzt: them].

וּפֹעֲל֖וֹ (וּ) u. “and”וְאֵ֥ין (וְ) ve. “and”

The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

וִירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ (וִ) vi. “and”

And it shall come to pass in the end of days, [ergänzt: that] the mountain of Jehovah's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow unto it.

וְנִשָּׂ֖א (וְ) ve. “and”

And many peoples shall go and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and Jehovah's word from Jerusalem.

וְנַעֲלֶ֣ה (וְ) ve. “so”וְיֹרֵ֙נוּ֙ (וְ) ve. “so”וְנֵלְכָ֖ה (וְ) ve. “so”וּדְבַר־ (וּ) u. “and”

And he shall judge among the nations, and shall reprove many peoples; and they shall forge their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into pruning-knives: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

וַחֲנִיתֽוֹתֵיהֶם֙ (וַ) va. “and”וְלֹא־ (וְ) ve. “and”

House of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of Jehovah.

וְנֵלְכָ֖ה (וְ) ve. “so”

For thou hast cast off thy people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled [ergänzt: with what comes] from the east, and use auguries like the Philistines, and ally themselves with the children of foreigners.

וְעֹֽנְנִ֖ים (וְ) ve. “and”וּבְיַלְדֵ֥י (וּ) u. “and”

And their land is full of silver and gold, and there is no end of their treasures: their land also is full of horses, and there is no end of their chariots.

וְזָהָ֔ב (וְ) ve. “and”וְאֵ֥ין (וְ) ve. “and”וְאֵ֥ין (וְ) ve. “and”

And the mean man shall be bowed down, and the great man shall be brought low: and do not thou forgive them!

וְאַל־ (וְ) ve. “and”

Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, from before the terror of Jehovah, and from the glory of his majesty.

וְהִטָּמֵ֖ן (וְ) ve. “and”וּמֵהֲדַ֖ר (וּ) u. “and”

For there shall be a day of Jehovah of hosts upon everything proud and lofty, and upon everything lifted up, and it shall be brought low;

וָרָ֑ם (וָ) va. “and”וְעַ֖ל (וְ) ve. “and”וְשָׁפֵֽל׃ (וְ) ve. “and”

and upon all the cedars of Lebanon, high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan;

וְעַל֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְהַנִּשָּׂאִ֑ים (וְ) ve. “and”וְעַ֖ל (וְ) ve. “and”

and upon all the lofty mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up;

וְעַ֖ל (וְ) ve. “and”וְעַ֖ל (וְ) ve. “and”

and upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall;

וְעַ֖ל (וְ) ve. “and”וְעַ֖ל (וְ) ve. “and”

and upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant works of art.

וְעַ֖ל (וְ) ve. “and”וְעַ֖ל (וְ) ve. “and”

and the idols shall utterly pass away.

וְהָאֱלִילִ֖ים (וְ) ve. “and”
