For there was a commandment from the king concerning them, and a sure ordinance concerning the singers, as every day required.

וַאֲמָנָ֥ה (וַ) va. “and”

And Pethahiah the son of Meshezabel, of the children of Zerah the son of Judah, was at the king's hand in all matters concerning the people.

וּפְתַֽחְיָ֨ה (וּ) u. “and”

And for the villages, with their fields, some of the children of Judah dwelt in Kiriath-arba and the towns thereof, and in Dibon and the towns thereof, and in Jekabzeel and the villages thereof;

וְאֶל־ (וְ) ve. “and”וּבְנֹתֶ֔יהָ (וּ) u. “and”וּבְדִיבֹן֙ (וּ) u. “and”וּבְנֹתֶ֔יהָ (וּ) u. “and”וּבִֽיקַּבְצְאֵ֖ל (וּ) u. “and”וַחֲצֵרֶֽיהָ׃ (וַ) va. “and”

and in Jeshua, and in Moladah, and Beth-pelet;

וּבְיֵשׁ֥וּעַ (וּ) u. “and”וּבְמוֹלָדָ֖ה (וּ) u. “and”וּבְבֵ֥ית (וּ) u. “and”

and in Hazar-shual, and in Beer-sheba and the towns thereof;

וּבַחֲצַ֥ר (וּ) u. “and”וּבִבְאֵ֥ר (וּ) u. “and”וּבְנֹתֶֽיהָ׃ (וּ) u. “and”

and in Ziklag, and in Meconah and in the towns thereof;

וּבְצִֽקְלַ֥ג (וּ) u. “and”וּבִמְכֹנָ֖ה (וּ) u. “and”וּבִבְנֹתֶֽיהָ׃ (וּ) u. “and”

and in En-rimmon, and in Zorah, and in Jarmuth;

וּבְעֵ֥ין (וּ) u. “and”וּבְצָרְעָ֖ה (וּ) u. “and”וּבְיַרְמֽוּת׃ (וּ) u. “and”

Zanoah, Adullam, and their villages, Lachish and the fields thereof, Azekah and the towns thereof. So they encamped from Beer-sheba unto the valley of Hinnom.

וְחַצְרֵיהֶ֔ם (וְ) ve. “and”וּשְׂדֹתֶ֔יהָ (וּ) u. “and”וּבְנֹתֶ֑יהָ (וּ) u. “and”

And the children of Benjamin from Geba onward, at Michmas and Aijah, and at Beth-el and the towns thereof;

וּבְנֵ֥י (וּ) u. “and”וְעַיָּ֔ה (וְ) ve. “and”וּבֵֽית־ (וּ) u. “and”וּבְנֹתֶֽיהָ׃ (וּ) u. “and”

Lod, and Ono, Ge-harashim.

וְאוֹנ֖וֹ (וְ) ve. “and”

And of the Levites, certain courses in Judah were joined to Benjamin.

וּמִן־ (וּ) u. “and”

Now these are the priests and the Levites that went up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra;

וְאֵ֙לֶּה֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְהַלְוִיִּ֔ם (וְ) ve. “and”וְיֵשׁ֑וּעַ (וְ) ve. “and”

Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jedaiah;

וְיוֹיָרִ֖יב (וְ) ve. “and”

Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the chiefs of the priests and their brethren in the days of Jeshua.

וַאֲחֵיהֶ֖ם (וַ) va. “and”

Moreover the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, who was over the thanksgiving, he and his brethren.

וְהַלְוִיִּ֗ם (וְ) ve. “and”וְאֶחָֽיו׃ (וְ) ve. “and”

Also Bakbukiah and Unni, their brethren, were over against them in wards.

וּבַקְבֻּֽקְיָ֨ה (וּ) u. “and”וְעֻנִּ֧י (וְ) ve. “and”

And Jeshua begot Joiakim, and Joiakim begot Eliashib, and Eliashib begot Joiada,

וְיֵשׁ֖וּעַ (וְ) ve. “and”וְיֽוֹיָקִים֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְאֶלְיָשִׁ֖יב (וְ) ve. “and”

and Joiada begot Jonathan and Jonathan begot Jaddua.

וְיוֹיָדָע֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְיוֹנָתָ֖ן (וְ) ve. “and”

And in the days of Joiakim were priests, heads of fathers' houses: of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah;

וּבִימֵי֙ (וּ) u. “and”

and of Joiarib, Mattenai; of Jedaiah, Uzzi;

וּלְיוֹיָרִ֣יב (וּ) u. “and”

The Levites in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, were recorded heads of fathers' houses; also the priests, in the reign of Darius the Persian.

וְיוֹחָנָן֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְיַדּ֔וּעַ (וְ) ve. “and”וְהַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים (וְ) ve. “and”

The sons of Levi, heads of fathers' houses, were written in the book of the chronicles, even until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib.

וְעַד־ (וְ) ve. “and”

And the chiefs of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brethren over against them, to praise and give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, ward against ward.

וְרָאשֵׁ֣י (וְ) ve. “and”וְיֵשׁ֤וּעַ (וְ) ve. “and”וַאֲחֵיהֶ֣ם (וַ) va. “and”

Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the ward at the store-houses of the gates.

וּבַקְבֻּֽקְיָ֛ה (וּ) u. “and”

These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of Ezra the priest the scribe.

וּבִימֵי֙ (וּ) u. “and”וְעֶזְרָ֥א (וְ) ve. “and”
