But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build a house for my name, because thou art a man of war, and hast shed blood.

וְהָאֱלֹהִים֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְדָמִ֥ים (וְ) ve. “and”

Howbeit Jehovah, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel;

וּבְבֵ֥ית (וּ) u. “and”וּבִבְנֵ֣י (וּ) u. “and”

And of all my sons (for Jehovah hath given me many sons), he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of Jehovah over Israel.

וּמִכָּ֨ל־ (וּ) u. “and”

And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts; for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.

וַחֲצֵרוֹתָ֑י (וַ) va. “and”וַאֲנִ֖י (וַ) va. “and”

And I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and mine ordinances, as at this day.

וּמִשְׁפָּטַ֖י (וּ) u. “and”

Now therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of Jehovah, and in the audience of our God, observe and seek out all the commandments of Jehovah your God; that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children after you for ever.

וְ֠עַתָּה (וְ֠) Ve. “and”וּבְאָזְנֵ֣י (וּ) u. “and”וְדִרְשׁ֔וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for Jehovah searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

וְאַתָּ֣ה (וְ) ve. “and”וְעָבְדֵ֗הוּ (וְ) ve. “and”וּבְנֶ֣פֶשׁ (וּ) u. “and”וְכָל־ (וְ) ve. “and”וְאִם־ (וְ) ve. “and”

Take heed now; for Jehovah hath chosen thee to build a house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.

וַעֲשֵֽׂה׃ (וַ) va. “and”

Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch [ergänzt: of the temple], and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper rooms thereof, and of the inner chambers thereof, and of the place of the mercy-seat;

וְֽאֶת־ (וְֽ) ve. “and”וְגַנְזַכָּ֧יו (וְ) ve. “and”וַעֲלִיֹּתָ֛יו (וַ) va. “and”וַחֲדָרָ֥יו (וַ) va. “and”וּבֵ֥ית (וּ) u. “and”

and the pattern of all that he had by the Spirit, for the courts of the house of Jehovah, and for all the chambers round about, for the treasuries of the house of God, and for the treasuries of the dedicated things;

וְתַבְנִ֗ית (וְ) ve. “and”וּלְכָל־ (וּ) u. “and”וּלְאֹצְר֖וֹת (וּ) u. “and”

also for the courses of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of Jehovah, and for all the vessels of service in the house of Jehovah;

וּֽלְמַחְלְקוֹת֙ (וּֽ) u. “and”וְהַלְוִיִּ֔ם (וְ) ve. “and”וּֽלְכָל־ (וּֽ) u. “and”וּֽלְכָל־ (וּֽ) u. “and”

of gold by weight for the [ergänzt: vessels of] gold, for all vessels of every kind of service; [ergänzt: of silver] for all the vessels of silver by weight, for all vessels of every kind of service;

וַעֲבוֹדָ֑ה (וַ) va. “and”וַעֲבוֹדָֽה׃ (וַ) va. “and”

by weight also for the candlesticks of gold, and for the lamps thereof, of gold, by weight for every candlestick and for the lamps thereof; and for the candlesticks of silver, [ergänzt: silver] by weight for [ergänzt: every] candlestick and for the lamps thereof, according to the use of every candlestick;

וּמִשְׁקָ֞ל (וּ) u. “and”וְנֵרֹֽתֵיהֶם֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וּמְנוֹרָ֖ה (וּ) u. “and”וְנֵרֹתֶ֑יהָ (וְ) ve. “and”וְלִמְנֹר֨וֹת (וְ) ve. “and”וְנֵרֹתֶ֔יהָ (וְ) ve. “and”וּמְנוֹרָֽה׃ (וּ) u. “and”

and the gold by weight for the tables of showbread, for every table; and silver for the tables of silver;

וְאֶת־ (וְ) ve. “and”וְשֻׁלְחָ֑ן (וְ) ve. “and”וְכֶ֖סֶף (וְ) ve. “and”

and the flesh-hooks, and the basins, and the cups, of pure gold; and for the golden bowls by weight for every bowl; and for the silver bowls by weight for every bowl;

וְהַמִּזְלָג֧וֹת (וְ) ve. “and”וְהַמִּזְרָק֛וֹת (וְ) ve. “and”וְהַקְּשָׂוֹ֖ת (וְ) ve. “and”וְלִכְפוֹרֵ֨י (וְ) ve. “and”וּכְפ֔וֹר (וּ) u. “and”וְלִכְפוֹרֵ֥י (וְ) ve. “and”וּכְפֽוֹר׃ (וּ) u. “and”

and for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot, [ergänzt: even] the cherubim, that spread out [ergänzt: their wings], and covered the ark of the covenant of Jehovah.

וּלְמִזְבַּ֧ח (וּ) u. “and”וּלְתַבְנִ֣ית (וּ) u. “and”וְסֹכְכִ֖ים (וְ) ve. “and”

And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed; for Jehovah God, even my God, is with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until all the work for the service of the house of Jehovah be finished.

וֶאֱמַץ֙ (וֶ) ve. “and”וַעֲשֵׂ֔ה (וַ) va. “and”וְאַל־ (וְ) ve. “and”וְלֹ֣א (וְ) ve. “and”

And, behold, there are the courses of the priests and the Levites, for all the service of the house of God: and there shall be with thee in all manner of work every willing man that hath skill, for any manner of service: also the captains and all the people will be wholly at thy commandment.

וְהִנֵּ֗ה (וְ) ve. “and”וְהַלְוִיִּ֔ם (וְ) ve. “and”וְעִמְּךָ֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְהַשָּׂרִ֥ים (וְ) ve. “and”וְכָל־ (וְ) ve. “and”

And David the king said unto all the assembly, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for Jehovah God.

וָרָ֑ךְ (וָ) va. “and”וְהַמְּלָאכָ֣ה (וְ) ve. “and”

Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for the [ergänzt: things of] gold, and the silver for the [ergänzt: things of] silver, and the brass for the [ergänzt: things of] brass, the iron for the [ergänzt: things of] iron, and wood for the [ergänzt: things of] wood; onyx stones, and [ergänzt: stones] to be set, stones for inlaid work, and of divers colors, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.

וּֽכְכָל־ (וּֽ) u. “and”וְהַכֶּ֨סֶף (וְ) ve. “and”וְהַנְּחֹ֣שֶׁת (וְ) ve. “and”וְהָעֵצִ֖ים (וְ) ve. “and”וּמִלּוּאִ֜ים (וּ) u. “and”וְרִקְמָ֗ה (וְ) ve. “and”וְכֹ֨ל (וְ) ve. “and”וְאַבְנֵי־ (וְ) ve. “and”

Moreover also, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, seeing that I have a treasure of mine own of gold and silver, I give it unto the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,

וְע֗וֹד (וְ) ve. “and”וָכָ֑סֶף (וָ) va. “and”

even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, wherewith to overlay the walls of the houses;

וְשִׁבְעַ֨ת (וְ) ve. “and”

of gold for the [ergänzt: things of] gold, and of silver for the [ergänzt: things of] silver, and for all manner of work [ergänzt: to be made] by the hands of artificers. Who then offereth willingly to consecrate himself this day unto Jehovah?

וְלַכֶּ֣סֶף (וְ) ve. “and”וּלְכָל־ (וּ) u. “and”וּמִ֣י (וּ) u. “and”

Then the princes of the fathers' [ergänzt: houses], and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers over the king's work, offered willingly;

וְשָׂרֵ֣י׀ (וְ) ve. “and”וְשָׂרֵ֤י (וְ) ve. “and”וְהַמֵּא֔וֹת (וְ) ve. “and”וּלְשָׂרֵ֖י (וּ) u. “and”

and they gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand darics, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and of iron a hundred thousand talents.

וַאֲדַרְכֹנִ֣ים (וַ) va. “and”וְכֶ֗סֶף (וְ) ve. “and”וּנְחֹ֕שֶׁת (וּ) u. “and”וּשְׁמוֹנַ֥ת (וּ) u. “and”וּבַרְזֶ֖ל (וּ) u. “and”
