And let Moses alone come near Jehovah; but they shall not come near; neither shall the people go up with him.

וְנִגַּ֨שׁ (וְ) ve. “and”

And Moses came and told the people all the words of Jehovah, and all the judgments; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words that Jehovah has said will we do!

וַיָּבֹ֣א (וַ) va “and”וַיְסַפֵּ֤ר (וַ) va “and”וַיַּ֨עַן (וַ) va “and”וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ (וַ) va “and”

And Moses wrote all the words of Jehovah, and rose up early in the morning, and built an altar under the mountain, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

וַיִּכְתֹּ֣ב (וַ) va “and”וַיַּשְׁכֵּ֣ם (וַ) va “and”וַיִּ֥בֶן (וַ) va “and”

And he sent the youths of the children of Israel, and they offered up burnt-offerings, and sacrificed sacrifices of peace-offering of bullocks to Jehovah.

וַיִּשְׁלַ֗ח (וַ) va “and”וַיַּֽעֲל֖וּ (וַ) va “and”וַֽיִּזְבְּח֞וּ (וַֽ) va “and”

And Moses took half the blood, and put [ergänzt: it] in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.

וַיִּקַּ֤ח (וַ) va “and”וַיָּ֖שֶׂם (וַ) va “and”

And he took the book of the covenant, and read [ergänzt: it] in the ears of the people; and they said, All that Jehovah has said will we do, and obey!

וַיִּקַּח֙ (וַ) va “and”וַיִּקְרָ֖א (וַ) va “and”וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ (וַ) va “and”

And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled [ergänzt: it] on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant that Jehovah has made with you concerning all these words.

וַיִּקַּ֤ח (וַ) va “and”וַיִּזְרֹ֖ק (וַ) va “and”וַיֹּ֗אמֶר (וַ) va “and”

And Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up;

וַיַּ֥עַל (וַ) va “and”

and they saw the God of Israel; and there was under his feet as it were work of transparent sapphire, and as it were the form of heaven for clearness.

וַיִּרְא֕וּ (וַ) va “and”

And on the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: they saw God, and ate and drank.

וַֽיֶּחֱזוּ֙ (וַֽ) va “and”וַיֹּאכְל֖וּ (וַ) va “and”וַיִּשְׁתּֽוּ׃ (וַ) va “and”

And Jehovah said to Moses, Come up to me into the mountain, and be there; and I will give thee the tables of stone, and the law, and the commandment that I have written, for their instruction.

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר (וַ) va “and”

And Moses rose up, and Joshua his attendant; and Moses went up to the mountain of God.

וַיָּ֣קָם (וַ) va “and”וַיַּ֥עַל (וַ) va “and”

And Moses went up to the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.

וַיַּ֥עַל (וַ) va “and”וַיְכַ֥ס (וַ) va “and”

And the glory of Jehovah abode on mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days; and on the seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.

וַיִּשְׁכֹּ֤ן (וַ) va “and”וַיְכַסֵּ֥הוּ (וַ) va “and”וַיִּקְרָ֧א (וַ) va “and”

And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and ascended the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

וַיָּבֹ֥א (וַ) va “and”וַיַּ֣עַל (וַ) va “and”וַיְהִ֤י (וַ) va “and”

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר (וַ) va “and”

And they shall make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.

וְעָ֥שׂוּ (וְ) ve. “and”וְשָׁכַנְתִּ֖י (וְ) ve. “and”

And they shall make an ark of acacia-wood; two cubits and a half the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.

וְעָשׂ֥וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold: inside and outside shalt thou overlay it; and shalt make upon it a border of gold round about.

וְצִפִּיתָ֤ (וְ) ve. “and”וְעָשִׂ֧יתָ (וְ) ve. “and”

And cast four rings of gold for it, and put [ergänzt: them] at the four corners thereof, that two rings may be upon the one side thereof and two rings upon the other side thereof.

וְיָצַ֣קְתָּ (וְ) ve. “and”וְנָ֣תַתָּ֔ה (וְ) ve. “and”

And make staves of acacia-wood and overlay them with gold.

וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ (וְ) ve. “and”וְצִפִּיתָ֥ (וְ) ve. “and”

And put the staves into the rings upon the sides of the ark, that the ark may be borne with them.

וְהֵֽבֵאתָ֤ (וְ) ve. “and”

And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony that I shall give thee.

וְנָתַתָּ֖ (וְ) ve. “and”

And thou shalt make a mercy-seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.

וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ (וְ) ve. “and”

And thou shalt make two cherubim of gold; [ergänzt: of] beaten work shalt thou make them, at the two ends of the mercy-seat.
