So I fed the flock of slaughter, truly the poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.

וָֽאֶרְעֶה֙ (וָֽ) va. “and”וָאֶקַּֽח־ (וָ) va. “and”וָאֶרְעֶ֖ה (וָ) va. “and”

And I destroyed three shepherds in one month; and my soul was vexed with them, and their soul also loathed me.

וָאַכְחִ֛ד (וָ) va. “and”וַתִּקְצַ֤ר (וַ) va. “and”

And I said, I will not feed you: that which dieth, let it die; and that which perisheth let it perish; and let them which are left eat every one the flesh of another.

וָאֹמַ֕ר (וָ) va. “and”

And I took my staff, Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the peoples.

וָאֶקַּ֤ח (וָ) va. “and”וָאֶגְדַּ֖ע (וָ) va. “and”

And it was broken in that day; and so the poor of the flock that gave heed to me knew that it was the word of Jehovah.

וַתֻּפַ֖ר (וַ) va. “and”וַיֵּדְע֨וּ (וַ) va “and”

And I said unto them, If ye think good, give [ergänzt: me] my hire; and if not, forbear. And they weighed for my hire thirty silver-pieces.

וָאֹמַ֣ר (וָ) va. “and”וַיִּשְׁקְל֥וּ (וַ) va “and”

And Jehovah said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prized at by them. And I took the thirty silver-pieces, and cast them to the potter in the house of Jehovah.

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר (וַ) va “and”וָֽאֶקְחָה֙ (וָֽ) va. “and”וָאַשְׁלִ֥יךְ (וָ) va. “and”

And I cut asunder mine other staff, Bands, to break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

וָֽאֶגְדַּע֙ (וָֽ) va. “and”

And Jehovah said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר (וַ) va “and”

And it shall come to pass in that day [ergänzt: that] I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone unto all peoples: all that burden themselves with it shall certainly be wounded, and all the nations of the earth shall be assembled together against it.

וְהָיָ֣ה (וְ) ve. “and”וְנֶאֶסְפ֣וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

And the leaders of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength through Jehovah of hosts their God.

וְאָֽמְר֛וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

In that day will I make the leaders of Judah like a hearth of fire among wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the peoples round about, on the right hand and on the left; and Jerusalem shall dwell again in her own place, in Jerusalem.

וְאָ֨כְל֜וּ (וְ) ve. “and”וְיָשְׁבָ֨ה (וְ) ve. “and”

And Jehovah shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem be not magnified over Judah.

וְהוֹשִׁ֧יעַ (וְ) ve. “and”

In that day will Jehovah defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that stumbleth among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David as God, as the Angel of Jehovah before them.

וְהָיָ֞ה (וְ) ve. “and”

And it shall come to pass in that day, [ergänzt: that] I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

וְהָיָ֖ה (וְ) ve. “and”

And I will pour upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of grace and of supplications; and they shall look on me whom they pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for an only [ergänzt: son], and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for [ergänzt: his] firstborn.

וְשָׁפַכְתִּי֩ (וְ) ve. “and”וְהִבִּ֥יטוּ (וְ) ve. “and”וְסָפְד֣וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

And the land shall mourn, every family apart: the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart;

וְסָפְדָ֣ה (וְ) ve. “and”

And it shall come to pass in that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, [ergänzt: that] I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered; and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.

וְהָיָה֩ (וְ) ve. “and”

And it shall come to pass, if any shall yet prophesy, that his father and his mother that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name of Jehovah; and his father and his mother that begat him shall thrust him through when he prophesieth.

וְהָיָ֗ה (וְ) ve. “and”וְאָמְר֣וּ (וְ) ve. “and”וּדְקָרֻ֜הוּ (וּ) u. “and”

And it shall come to pass in that day, [ergänzt: that] the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he prophesieth; neither shall they wear a hairy mantle to deceive.

וְהָיָ֣ה׀ (וְ) ve. “and”

And he shall say, I am no prophet, I am a tiller of the ground; for man acquired me [ergänzt: as bondman] from my youth.

וְאָמַ֕ר (וְ) ve. “and”

And one shall say unto him, What are those wounds in thy hands? And he will say, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.

וְאָמַ֣ר (וְ) ve. “and”וְאָמַ֕ר (וְ) ve. “and”

Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, even against the man [ergänzt: that is] my fellow, saith Jehovah of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered, and I will turn my hand upon the little ones.

וַהֲשִׁבֹתִ֥י (וַ) va. “and”

And it shall come to pass in all the land, saith Jehovah, two parts therein shall be cut off [ergänzt: and] die; but the third shall be left therein.

וְהָיָ֤ה (וְ) ve. “and”

And I will bring the third part into the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on my name, and I will answer them: I will say, It is my people; and they shall say, Jehovah is my God.

וְהֵבֵאתִ֤י (וְ) ve. “and”וּצְרַפְתִּים֙ (וּ) u. “and”וּבְחַנְתִּ֖ים (וּ) u. “and”
