And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

וְהָיָה֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְהָיְתָ֥ה (וְ) ve. “and”

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the isles of the sea.

וְהָיָ֣ה׀ (וְ) ve. “and”

And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

וְנָשָׂ֥א (וְ) ve. “and”וְאָסַ֖ף (וְ) ve. “and”

The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not distress Ephraim.

וְסָ֙רָה֙ (וְ) ve. “and”

But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines towards the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.

וְעָפ֨וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

And the LORD will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind will he shake his hand over the river, and will smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dry shod.

וְהֶחֱרִ֣ים (וְ) ve. “and”וְהֵנִ֥יף (וְ) ve. “and”וְהִכָּ֙הוּ֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְהִדְרִ֖יךְ (וְ) ve. “and”

And there shall be a highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; as it was to Israel in the day that he came up from the land of Egypt.

וְהָיְתָ֣ה (וְ) ve. “and”

And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thy anger is turned away, and thou hast comforted me.

וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ (וְ) ve. “and”

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

וַֽיְהִי־ (וַֽ) va “and”

Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

וּשְׁאַבְתֶּם־ (וּ) u. “and”

And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.

וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֞ם (וַ) va. “and”

And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.

וְֽנִבְהָ֓לוּ׀ (וְֽ) ve. “and”

And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

וּפָקַדְתִּ֤י (וּ) u. “and”וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי֙ (וְ) ve. “and”

And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one to his own land.

וְהָיָה֙ (וְ) ve. “and”

And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellence, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

וְהָיְתָ֤ה (וְ) ve. “and”

But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.

וְרָבְצוּ־ (וְ) ve. “and”וּמָלְא֥וּ (וּ) u. “and”וְשָׁ֤כְנוּ (וְ) ve. “and”

And the wild beasts of the isles shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

וְעָנָ֤ה (וְ) ve. “and”

For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.

וּבָחַ֥ר (וּ) u. “and”וְהִנִּיחָ֖ם (וְ) ve. “and”וְנִלְוָ֤ה (וְ) ve. “and”וְנִסְפְּח֖וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.

וּלְקָח֣וּם (וּ) u. “and”וֶהֱבִיא֣וּם (וֶ) ve. “and”וְהִֽתְנַחֲל֣וּם (וְ) ve. “and”וְהָיוּ֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְרָד֖וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage in which thou wast made to serve,

וְהָיָ֗ה (וְ) ve. “and”

That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!

וְנָשָׂ֜אתָ (וְ) ve. “and”וְאָמָ֑רְתָּ (וְ) ve. “and”

Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they may not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.

וְיָ֣רְשׁוּ (וְ) ve. “and”וּמָלְא֥וּ (וּ) u. “and”

For I will arise against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.

וְקַמְתִּ֣י (וְ) ve. “and”וְהִכְרַתִּ֨י (וְ) ve. “and”

I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.

וְשַׂמְתִּ֛יהָ (וְ) ve. “and”וְטֵֽאטֵאתִ֙יהָ֙ (וְ) ve. “and”

That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.

וְסָ֤ר (וְ) ve. “and”
