H9001–/וַ–v

But they mingled with the nations, and learned their works;

וַיִּתְעָרְב֥וּ (וַ) va “and”וַֽ֝יִּלְמְד֗וּ (וַֽ֝) va “and”

And they served their idols; and they were a snare unto them:

וַיַּעַבְד֥וּ (וַ) va “and”וַיִּהְי֖וּ (וַ) va “and”

And they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto demons,

וַיִּזְבְּח֣וּ (וַ) va “and”

And shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan; and the land was polluted with blood.

וַיִּֽשְׁפְּכ֨וּ (וַ) va “and”וַתֶּחֱנַ֥ף (וַ) va. “and”

And they were defiled with their works, and went a-whoring in their doings.

וַיִּטְמְא֥וּ (וַ) va “and”וַ֝יִּזְנוּ֗ (וַ֝) va “and”

Then was the anger of Jehovah kindled against his people, and he abhorred his inheritance;

וַיִּֽחַר־ (וַ) va “and”וַ֝יְתָעֵ֗ב (וַ֝) va “and”

And he gave them into the hand of the nations; and they that hated them ruled over them:

וַיִּתְּנֵ֥ם (וַ) va “and”וַֽיִּמְשְׁל֥וּ (וַֽ) va “and”

And their enemies oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.

וַיִּלְחָצ֥וּם (וַ) va “and”וַ֝יִּכָּנְע֗וּ (וַ֝) va “and”

Often did he deliver them; but as for them they provoked [ergänzt: him] by their counsel, and they were brought low by their iniquity.

וַ֝יָּמֹ֗כּוּ (וַ֝) va “and”

But he regarded their distress, when he heard their cry;

וַ֭יַּרְא (וַ֭) Va “and”

And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his loving-kindnesses;

וַיִּזְכֹּ֣ר (וַ) va “and”וַ֝יִּנָּחֵ֗ם (וַ֝) va “and”

And he caused them to find compassion of all those that had carried them captives.

וַיִּתֵּ֣ן (וַ) va “and”

Blessed be Jehovah the God of Israel, from eternity and to eternity! And let all the people say, Amen! Hallelujah!

וְאָמַ֖ר (וְ) ve. “and”

Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, [ergänzt: and] he delivered them out of their distresses,

וַיִּצְעֲק֣וּ (וַ) va “and”

And he led them forth by a right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

וַ֭יַּֽדְרִיכֵם (וַ֭) Va “and”

And he bowed down their heart with labour; they stumbled, and there was none to help:

וַיַּכְנַ֣ע (וַ) va “and”

Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, [ergänzt: and] he saved them out of their distresses;

וַיִּזְעֲק֣וּ (וַ) va “and”

Their soul abhorreth all manner of food, and they draw near unto the gates of death:

וַ֝יַּגִּ֗יעוּ (וַ֝) va “and”

Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, [ergänzt: and] he saveth them out of their distresses;

וַיִּזְעֲק֣וּ (וַ) va “and”

For he speaketh, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof:

וַיֹּ֗אמֶר (וַ) va “and”וַֽ֭יַּעֲמֵד (וַֽ֭) Va “and”וַתְּרוֹמֵ֥ם (וַ) va. “and”

Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses;

וַיִּצְעֲק֣וּ (וַ) va “and”

He maketh the storm a calm, and the waves thereof are still:

וַ֝יֶּחֱשׁ֗וּ (וַ֝) va “and”

And they rejoice because they are quiet; and he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

וַיִּשְׂמְח֥וּ (וַ) va “and”וַ֝יַּנְחֵ֗ם (וַ֝) va “and”

And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation;

וַיּ֣וֹשֶׁב (וַ) va “and”וַ֝יְכוֹנְנ֗וּ (וַ֝) va “and”

And sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase;

וַיִּזְרְע֣וּ (וַ) va “and”וַיִּטְּע֣וּ (וַ) va “and”וַ֝יַּעֲשׂ֗וּ (וַ֝) va “and”
