So Solomon held the feast at that time seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great assembly, from the entrance of Hamath unto the brook of Egypt.

וַיַּ֣עַשׂ (וַ) va “and”

And on the eighth day they held a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.

וַֽיַּעֲשׂ֛וּ (וַֽ) va “and”

Thus Solomon finished the house of Jehovah, and the king's house: and all that came into Solomon's heart to make in the house of Jehovah, and in his own house, he prosperously effected.

וַיְכַ֧ל (וַ) va “and”

And Jehovah appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for a house of sacrifice.

וַיֵּרָ֧א (וַ) va “and”וַיֹּ֣אמֶר (וַ) va “and”וּבָחַ֜רְתִּי (וּ) u. “and”

For now have I chosen and hallowed this house, that my name may be there for ever; and mine eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.

וְהָי֨וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.

וַהֲקִ֣ימוֹתִ֔י (וַ) va. “and”

But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

וַעֲזַבְתֶּם֙ (וַ) va. “and”וַהֲלַכְתֶּ֗ם (וַ) va. “and”וַעֲבַדְתֶּם֙ (וַ) va. “and”וְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶ֖ם (וְ) ve. “and”

then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

וּנְתַשְׁתִּ֗ים (וּ) u. “and”

And this house, which is so high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall say, Why hath Jehovah done thus unto this land, and to this house?

וְאָמַ֗ר (וְ) ve. “and”

And they shall answer, Because they forsook Jehovah, the God of their fathers, who brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.

וְאָמְר֗וּ (וְ) ve. “and”וַֽיַּחֲזִ֙יקוּ֙ (וַֽ) va “and”וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲו֥וּ (וַ) va “and”וַיַּֽעַבְד֑וּם (וַ) va “and”

And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, wherein Solomon had built the house of Jehovah, and his own house,

וַיְהִ֞י (וַ) va “and”

that the cities which Huram had given to Solomon, Solomon built them, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.

וַיּ֥וֹשֶׁב (וַ) va “and”

And Solomon went to Hamath-zobah, and prevailed against it.

וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ (וַ) va “and”וַיֶּחֱזַ֖ק (וַ) va “and”

And he built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the store-cities, which he built in Hamath.

וַיִּ֥בֶן (וַ) va “and”

Also he built Beth-horon the upper, and Beth-horon the nether, fortified cities, with walls, gates, and bars;

וַיִּ֜בֶן (וַ) va “and”

of their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel consumed not, of them did Solomon raise a levy [ergänzt: of bondservants] unto this day.

וַיַּעֲלֵ֤ם (וַ) va “and”

And he appointed, according to the ordinance of David his father, the courses of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their offices, to praise, and to minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required; the doorkeepers also by their courses at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded.

וַיַּעֲמֵ֣ד (וַ) va “and”

Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of Jehovah, and until it was finished. [ergänzt: So] the house of Jehovah was completed.

וַתִּכֹּן֙ (וַ) va. “and”

And Huram sent him by the hands of his servants ships, and servants that had knowledge of the sea; and they came with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and fetched from thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought them to king Solomon.

וַיִּֽשְׁלַֽח־ (וַ) va “and”וַיָּבֹ֜אוּ (וַ) va “and”וַיִּקְח֣וּ (וַ) va “and”וַיָּבִ֖יאוּ (וַ) va “and”

And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great train, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.

וַתָּב֣וֹא (וַ) va. “and”וַתָּבוֹא֙ (וַ) va. “and”וַתְּדַבֵּ֣ר (וַ) va. “and”

And Solomon told her all her questions; and there was not anything hid from Solomon which he told her not.

וַיַּגֶּד־ (וַ) va “and”

And when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,

וַתֵּ֙רֶא֙ (וַ) va. “and”

And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom.

וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ (וַ) va. “and”

Howbeit I believed not their words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it; and, behold, the half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me: thou exceedest the fame that I heard.

וַתִּרְאֶ֣ינָה (וַ) va. “and”

Blessed be Jehovah thy God, who delighted in thee, to set thee on his throne, to be king for Jehovah thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do justice and righteousness.

וַיִּתֶּנְךָ֤ (וַ) va “and”
