Do ye thus requite Jehovah, O foolish people and unwise? Is not he thy father that hath bought thee? He hath made thee, and established thee.

וַֽיְכֹנְנֶֽךָ׃ (וַֽ) Va “and”

He made him ride on the high places of the earth, And he did eat the increase of the field; And he made him to suck honey out of the rock, And oil out of the flinty rock;

וַיֹּאכַ֖ל (וַ) va “and”וַיֵּנִקֵ֤הֽוּ (וַ) va “and”

But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: Thou art waxed fat, thou art grown thick, thou art become sleek; Then he forsook God who made him, And lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ן (וַ) va “and”וַיִּבְעָ֔ט (וַ) va “and”וַיִּטֹּשׁ֙ (וַ) va “and”וַיְנַבֵּ֖ל (וַ) va “and”

Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, And hast forgotten God that gave thee birth.

וַתִּשְׁכַּ֖ח (וַ) va. “and”

And Jehovah saw [ergänzt: it], and abhorred [ergänzt: them], Because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.

וַיַּ֥רְא (וַ) va “and”וַיִּנְאָ֑ץ (וַ) va “and”

And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: For they are a very perverse generation, Children in whom is no faithfulness.

וַיֹּ֗אמֶר (וַ) va “and”

For a fire is kindled in mine anger, And burneth unto the lowest Sheol, And devoureth the earth with its increase, And setteth on fire the foundations of the mountains.

וַתִּיקַ֖ד (וַ) va. “and”וַתֹּ֤אכַל (וַ) va. “and”וַתְּלַהֵ֖ט (וַ) va. “and”

Vengeance is mine, and recompense, At the time when their foot shall slide: For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things that are to come upon them shall make haste.

וְחָ֖שׁ (וְ) ve. “and”

And he will say, Where are their gods, The rock in which they took refuge;

וְאָמַ֖ר (וְ) ve. “and”

For I lift up my hand to heaven, And say, As I live for ever,

וְאָמַ֕רְתִּי (וְ) ve. “and”

Rejoice, O ye nations, [ergänzt: with] his people: For he will avenge the blood of his servants, And will render vengeance to his adversaries, And will make expiation for his land, for his people.

וְכִפֶּ֥ר (וְ) ve. “and”

And Moses came and spake all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun.

וַיָּבֹ֣א (וַ) va “and”וַיְדַבֵּ֛ר (וַ) va “and”

And Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel;

וַיְכַ֣ל (וַ) va “and”

And he said unto them, Set your heart unto all the words which I testify unto you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, [ergänzt: even] all the words of this law.

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר (וַ) va “and”

And Jehovah spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying,

וַיְדַבֵּ֤ר (וַ) va “and”

and die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people:

וַיֵּאָ֖סֶף (וַ) va “and”

And he said, Jehovah came from Sinai, And rose from Seir unto them; He shined forth from mount Paran, And he came from the ten thousands of holy ones: At his right hand was a fiery law for them.

וַיֹּאמַ֗ר (וַ) va “and”וְאָתָ֖ה (וְ) ve. “and”

And he was king in Jeshurun, When the heads of the people were gathered, All the tribes of Israel together.

וַיְהִ֥י (וַ) va “and”

And this is [ergänzt: the blessing] of Judah: and he said, Hear, Jehovah, the voice of Judah, And bring him in unto his people. With his hands he contended for himself; And thou shalt be a help against his adversaries.

וַיֹּאמַר֒ (וַ) va “and”

And he provided the first part for himself, For there was the lawgiver's portion reserved; And he came [ergänzt: with] the heads of the people; He executed the righteousness of Jehovah, And his ordinances with Israel.

וַיַּ֤רְא (וַ) va “and”וַיֵּתֵא֙ (וַ) va “and”

The eternal God is [ergänzt: thy] dwelling-place, And underneath are the everlasting arms. And he thrust out the enemy from before thee, And said, Destroy.

וַיְגָ֧רֶשׁ (וַ) va “and”וַיֹּ֥אמֶר (וַ) va “and”

And Israel dwelleth in safety, The fountain of Jacob alone, In a land of grain and new wine; Yea, his heavens drop down dew.

וַיִּשְׁכֹּן֩ (וַ) va “and”

And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And Jehovah showed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan,

וַיַּ֨עַל (וַ) va “and”וַיַּרְאֵ֨הוּ (וַ) va “and”

And Jehovah said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר (וַ) va “and”

So Moses the servant of Jehovah died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of Jehovah.

וַיָּ֨מָת (וַ) va “and”
