And Moses numbered, as Jehovah had commanded him, all the firstborn among the children of Israel.

וַיִּפְקֹ֣ד (וַ) va “and”

And all the firstborn males, by the number of the names, from a month old and upward, according to their numbering, were twenty-two thousand two hundred and seventy-three.

וַיְהִי֩ (וַ) va “and”

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר (וַ) va “and”

Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I am Jehovah.

וְהָיוּ־ (וְ) ve. “and”

thou shalt take five shekels apiece by the poll, according to the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take them, -- twenty gerahs the shekel;

וְלָקַחְתָּ֗ (וְ) ve. “and”

and thou shalt give the money unto Aaron and unto his sons for those in excess among them who are to be ransomed.

וְנָתַתָּ֣ה (וְ) ve. “and”

And Moses took the ransom-money from them that were over and above those who were ransomed by the Levites;

וַיִּקַּ֣ח (וַ) va “and”

And Moses gave the money of them that were ransomed to Aaron and to his sons, according to the commandment of Jehovah, -- as Jehovah had commanded Moses.

וַיִּתֵּ֨ן (וַ) va “and”

And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר (וַ) va “and”

And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron and his sons shall go in, and they shall take down the veil of separation and cover the ark of testimony with it;

וּבָ֨א (וּ) u. “and”וְהוֹרִ֕דוּ (וְ) ve. “and”וְכִ֨סּוּ־ (וְ) ve. “and”

and shall put thereon a covering of badgers' skin, and shall spread over it a cloth wholly of blue, and shall put its staves [ergänzt: to it].

וְנָתְנ֣וּ (וְ) ve. “and”וּפָרְשׂ֧וּ (וּ) u. “and”וְשָׂמ֖וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

And upon the table of shewbread they shall spread a cloth of blue; and put thereon the dishes, and the cups, and the bowls, and goblets of the drink-offering; and the continual bread shall be thereon.

וְנָתְנ֣וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

And they shall spread upon them a cloth of scarlet, and cover it with a covering of badgers' skin, and shall put its staves [ergänzt: to it].

וּפָרְשׂ֣וּ (וּ) u. “and”וְכִסּ֣וּ (וְ) ve. “and”וְשָׂמ֖וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

And they shall take a cloth of blue, and cover the candlestick of the light, and its lamps, and its snuffers, and its snuff-trays, and all the oil vessels thereof, wherewith they perform its service;

וְלָקְח֣וּ׀ (וְ) ve. “and”וְכִסּ֞וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

and they shall put it and all the utensils thereof within a covering of badgers' skin, and shall put it upon a pole.

וְנָתְנ֤וּ (וְ) ve. “and”וְנָתְנ֖וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

And upon the golden altar they shall spread a cloth of blue, and cover it with a covering of badgers' skin, and shall put its staves [ergänzt: to it].

וְכִסּ֣וּ (וְ) ve. “and”וְשָׂמ֖וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

And they shall take all the instruments of service, wherewith they serve in the sanctuary, and put them in a cloth of blue, and cover them with a covering of badgers' skin, and shall put them upon a pole.

וְלָקְחוּ֩ (וְ) ve. “and”וְנָֽתְנוּ֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְכִסּ֣וּ (וְ) ve. “and”וְנָתְנ֖וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

And they shall cleanse the altar of the ashes, and spread a purple cloth thereon;

וְדִשְּׁנ֖וּ (וְ) ve. “and”וּפָרְשׂ֣וּ (וּ) u. “and”

and they shall put upon it all the utensils thereof, wherewith they perform service about it: the firepans, the forks, and the shovels, and the bowls, -- all the utensils of the altar; and they shall spread upon it a covering of badgers' skin, and put its staves [ergänzt: to it].

וְנָתְנ֣וּ (וְ) ve. “and”וּפָרְשׂ֣וּ (וּ) u. “and”וְשָׂמ֥וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

And when Aaron and his sons have ended covering the sanctuary, and all the utensils of the sanctuary, when the camp setteth forward, then afterwards the sons of Kohath shall come to carry it; but they shall not touch the holy things, lest they die. This is what the sons of Kohath have to carry in the tent of meeting.

וְכִלָּ֣ה (וְ) ve. “and”וָמֵ֑תוּ (וָ) va. “and”

And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר (וַ) va “and”

but this shall ye do unto them, that they may live, and not die, when they draw near unto the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in, and appoint them every one to his service and to his burden;

וְחָיוּ֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וְשָׂמ֣וּ (וְ) ve. “and”

but they shall not go in and see for a moment the holy things, lest they die.

וָמֵֽתוּ׃ (וָ) va. “and”

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר (וַ) va “and”

they shall carry the curtains of the tabernacle, and the tent of meeting, its covering, and the covering of badgers' skin that is above upon it, and the curtain of the entrance to the tent of meeting,

וְנָ֨שְׂא֜וּ (וְ) ve. “and”
