And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to offer in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that offered unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the constellat

לַשֶּׁ֤מֶשׁ (שֶּׁ֤מֶשׁ) She.mesh “sun”

And he took away the horses that the kings of Judah had given to the sun, at the entrance of the house of the LORD, by the chamber of Nethan-melech the officer, which was in the precincts; and he burned the chariots of the sun with fire.

And the battle increased that day; howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Arameans until the even; and about the time of the going down of the sun he died.

And I said unto them: 'Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun be hot; and while they stand on guard, let them shut the doors, and bar ye them; and let watches be appointed of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every

He is green before the sun, and his shoots go forth over his garden.

שָׁ֑מֶשׁ Sha.mesh “[the] sun”

Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath He set a tent for the sun,

A Psalm of Asaph. God, God, the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

שֶׁ֝֗מֶשׁ She.mesh “[the] sun”

Let them be as a snail which melteth and passeth away; like the untimely births of a woman, that have not seen the sun.

שָֽׁמֶשׁ׃ Sha.mesh “[the] sun”

They shall fear Thee while the sun endureth, and so long as the moon, throughout all generations.

שָׁ֑מֶשׁ Sha.mesh “[the] sun”

May his name endure for ever; may his name be continued as long as the sun; may men also bless themselves by him; may all nations call him happy.

Thine is the day, Thine also the night; Thou hast established luminary and sun.

וָשָֽׁמֶשׁ׃ (שָֽׁמֶשׁ) Sha.mesh “[the] sun”

For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; the LORD giveth grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.

שֶׁ֨מֶשׁ׀ She.mesh “[is] a sun”

His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before Me.

כַשֶּׁ֣מֶשׁ (שֶּׁ֣מֶשׁ) She.mesh “sun”

Who appointedst the moon for seasons; the sun knoweth his going down.

שֶׁ֝֗מֶשׁ She.mesh “[the] sun”

The sun ariseth, they slink away, and couch in their dens.

הַ֭שֶּׁמֶשׁ (שֶּׁמֶשׁ) she.mesh “sun”

From the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof the LORD'S name is to be praised.

שֶׁ֥מֶשׁ She.mesh “[the] sun”

The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

הַשֶּׁ֥מֶשׁ (שֶּׁ֥מֶשׁ) She.mesh “sun”

The sun to rule by day, for His mercy endureth for ever;

הַ֭שֶּׁמֶשׁ (שֶּׁמֶשׁ) she.mesh “sun”

Praise ye Him, sun and moon; praise Him, all ye stars of light.

שֶׁ֣מֶשׁ She.mesh “O sun”

What profit hath man of all his labour wherein he laboureth under the sun?

הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃ (שָּֽׁמֶשׁ) Sha.mesh “sun”

The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he ariseth.

הַשֶּׁ֖מֶשׁ (שֶּׁ֖מֶשׁ) She.mesh “sun”הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ (שָּׁ֑מֶשׁ) Sha.mesh “sun”

That which hath been is that which shall be, and that which hath been done is that which shall be done; and there is nothing new under the sun.

I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind.

הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ (שָּׁ֑מֶשׁ) Sha.mesh “sun”

Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do; and, behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind, and there was no profit under the sun.

הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃ (שָּֽׁמֶשׁ) Sha.mesh “sun”

So I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun was grievous unto me; for all is vanity and a striving after wind.
