Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Israel, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have sold the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes-

שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ she.lo.Shah “three”

Come to Beth-el, and transgress; to Gilgal, [ergänzt: and] multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, [ergänzt: and] your tithes every three days;

לִשְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת (שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת) sh.Lo.shet “three”

And I also have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest; and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.

So two or three cities wandered unto one city to drink water, and were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah.

And Jehovah prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah; and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of Jehovah. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city, of three days' journey.

And I cut off the three shepherds in one month; for my soul was weary of them, and their soul also loathed me.
