And he shall set his face to come with the strength of his whole kingdom, and with him equitable conditions; and he shall perform them: and he shall give him the daughter of women, to corrupt her; but she shall not stand, neither be for him.

לְהַשְׁחִיתָ֔הּ (הַשְׁחִיתָ֔) hash.chi.Ta “destroy”

They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.

שִׁחֵ֖תוּ shi.Che.tu “they have dealt corruptly”

I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee; and I will not come in wrath.

לְשַׁחֵ֣ת (שַׁחֵ֣ת) sha.Chet “destroy”

It is thy destruction, O Israel, that [ergänzt: thou art] against me, against thy help.

שִֽׁחֶתְךָ֥ (שִֽׁחֶתְ) shi.chet. “it will destroy”

Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:

וְשִׁחֵ֣ת (שִׁחֵ֣ת) shi.Chet “he spoiled”

For Jehovah restoreth the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel; for the emptiers have emptied them out, and destroyed their vine-branches.

שִׁחֵֽתוּ׃ shi.Che.tu “they have destroyed”

I said, Only fear thou me; receive correction; so her dwelling shall not be cut off, [ergänzt: according to] all that I have appointed concerning her: but they rose early and corrupted all their doings.

הִשְׁחִ֔יתוּ hish.Chi.tu “they corrupted”

But cursed be the deceiver, who hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a blemished thing; for I am a great King, saith Jehovah of hosts, and my name is terrible among the Gentiles.

מָשְׁחָ֖ת ma.she.Chat “a blemished [animal]”

But ye are turned aside out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble in the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith Jehovah of hosts.

שִֽׁחַתֶּם֙ shi.cha.Tem “you have corrupted”

And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast its fruit before the time in the field, saith Jehovah of hosts.

יַשְׁחִ֥ת yash.Chit “it will destroy”
