H7585–שְׁאוֹל–she.ol

Like sheep they are appointed for the nether-world; death shall be their shepherd; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their form shall be for the nether-world to wear away, that there be no habitation for it.

לִֽשְׁא֣וֹל (שְׁא֣וֹל) sh.'ol “Sheol”שְׁא֗וֹל she.'ol “Sheol”

But God will redeem my soul from the power of the nether-world; for He shall receive me. Selah

שְׁא֑וֹל she.'ol “Sheol”

May He incite death against them, let them go down alive into the nether-world; for evil is in their dwelling, and within them.

שְׁא֣וֹל she.'ol “Sheol”

For great is Thy mercy toward me; and Thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest nether-world.

מִשְּׁא֥וֹל (שְּׁא֥וֹל) she.'ol “Sheol”

For my soul is sated with troubles, and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.

לִשְׁא֥וֹל (שְׁא֥וֹל) sh.'ol “Sheol”

What man is he that liveth and shall not see death, that shall deliver his soul from the power of the grave? Selah

שְׁא֣וֹל she.'ol “Sheol”

The cords of death compassed me, and the straits of the nether-world got hold upon me; I found trouble and sorrow.

שְׁא֣וֹל she.'ol “Sheol”

If I ascend up into heaven, Thou art there; if I make my bed in the nether-world, behold, Thou art there.

שְּׁא֣וֹל she.'ol “Sheol”

As when one cleaveth and breaketh up the earth, our bones are scattered at the grave's mouth.

שְׁאֽוֹל׃ she.'ol “Sheol”

Let us swallow them up alive as the grave, and whole, as those that go down into the pit;

כִּשְׁא֣וֹל (שְׁא֣וֹל) sh.'ol “Sheol”

Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on the nether-world;

שְׁ֝א֗וֹל She.ol “Sheol”

Her house is the way to the nether-world, going down to the chambers of death.

שְׁא֣וֹל she.'ol “Sheol”

But he knoweth not that the shades are there; that her guests are in the depths of the nether-world.

שְׁא֣וֹל she.'ol “Sheol”

The nether-world and Destruction are before the LORD; how much more then the hearts of the children of men!

שְׁא֣וֹל she.'ol “Sheol”

The path of life goeth upward for the wise, that he may depart from the nether-world beneath.

מִשְּׁא֥וֹל (שְּׁא֥וֹל) she.'ol “Sheol”

Thou beatest him with the rod, and wilt deliver his soul from the nether-world.

מִשְּׁא֥וֹל (שְּׁא֥וֹל) she.'ol “Sheol”

The nether-world and Destruction are never satiated; so the eyes of man are never satiated.

שְׁא֣וֹל she.'ol “Sheol”

The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not satisfied with water; and the fire that saith not: 'Enough.'

שְׁאוֹל֮ she.'Ol “Sheol”

Whatsoever thy hand attaineth to do by thy strength, that do; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

בִּשְׁא֕וֹל (שְׁא֕וֹל) sh.'ol “Sheol”

Set me as a seal upon thy heart, as a seal upon thine arm; for love is strong as death, jealousy is cruel as the grave; the flashes thereof are flashes of fire, a very flame of the LORD.

כִשְׁא֖וֹל (שְׁא֖וֹל) sh.'ol “Sheol”

Therefore the nether-world hath enlarged her desire, and opened her mouth without measure; and down goeth their glory, and their tumult, and their uproar, and he that rejoiceth among them.

שְּׁאוֹל֙ she.'Ol “Sheol”

'Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God: ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.'

שְׁאָ֔לָה she.'A.lah “[as] Sheol”

The nether-world from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming; the shades are stirred up for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; all the kings of the nations are raised up from their thrones.

שְׁא֗וֹל she.'ol “Sheol”

Thy pomp is brought down to the nether-world, and the noise of thy psalteries; the maggot is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.'

שְׁא֛וֹל she.'ol “Sheol”

Yet thou shalt be brought down to the nether-world, to the uttermost parts of the pit.
