For strangers are risen up against me, and the violent seek after my life: they have not set God before them. Selah.

לֹ֤א lo' “not”

Perversities are in the midst thereof; and oppression and deceit depart not from its streets.

וְֽלֹא־ (לֹא) lo'- “not”

For it is not an enemy that hath reproached me -- then could I have borne it; neither is it he that hateth me that hath magnified [ergänzt: himself] against me -- then would I have hidden myself from him;

For thou hast delivered my soul from death; [ergänzt: wilt thou] not [ergänzt: keep] my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

Which doth not hearken to the voice of enchanters, of one charming ever so wisely.

Had I regarded iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not hear.

Blessed be God, who hath not turned away my prayer, nor his loving-kindness from me!

They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.
