The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.

יִסְּרַ֥תּוּ (יִסְּרַ֥תּ) yi.se.Ra.t “she instructed”

For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,

וְיִסְּרֵ֕נִי (יִסְּרֵ֕) yi.se.Re. “he will instruct”

For his God doth instruct him to discretion, and doth teach him.

וְיִסְּר֥וֹ (יִסְּר֥) yi.se.R “he instructs”

Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

תְּיַסְּרֵ֣ךְ (תְּיַסְּרֵ֣) te.ya.se.Re “it will punish”

Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited.

הִוָּסְרִי֙ hi.va.se.Ri “let yourself be instructed”

O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.

יַסְּרֵ֥נִי (יַסְּרֵ֥) ya.se.Re. “correct”

For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet I will not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.

וְיִסַּרְתִּ֙יךָ֙ (יִסַּרְתִּ֙י) yi.sar.Ti. “I will discipline”

I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the LORD my God.

יִסַּרְתַּ֙נִי֙ (יִסַּרְתַּ֙) yi.sar.Ta. “you have disciplined”וָֽאִוָּסֵ֔ר (אִוָּסֵ֔ר) 'i.va.Ser “I was disciplined”

Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished.

וְיִסַּרְתִּ֙יךָ֙ (יִסַּרְתִּ֙י) yi.sar.Ti. “I will discipline”

Thus will I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to do after your lewdness.

וְנִֽוַּסְּרוּ֙ (נִֽוַּסְּרוּ֙) ni.va.se.Ru “they will be warned”

When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath heard.

אַיְסִרֵ֕ם (אַיְסִרֵ֕) 'ay.si.Re “I will chasten”

Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.

יִסַּ֔רְתִּי yi.Sar.ti “I instructed [them]”

It is in my desire that I should chastise them; and the people shall be gathered against them, when they shall bind themselves in their two furrows.

וְאֶסֳּרֵ֑ם (אֶסֳּרֵ֑) 'e.so.Re “I will discipline”
