H2822–חֹ֫שֶׁךְ–cho.shekh

He hath hedged up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.

חֹ֣שֶׁךְ Cho.shekh “darkness”

All darkness is laid up for his treasures: a fire not blown shall devour him; it shall feed upon what is left in his tent.

חֹשֶׁךְ֮ cho.sheKh “darkness”

Or darkness, that thou canst not see, and floods of waters cover thee.

חֹ֥שֶׁךְ Cho.shekh “darkness”

Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he hidden the gloom from me.

חֹ֑שֶׁךְ Cho.shekh “darkness”

In the dark they dig through houses; by day they shut themselves in; they know not the light:

בַּחֹ֗שֶׁךְ (חֹ֗שֶׁךְ) Cho.shekh “darkness”

He hath traced a fixed circle over the waters, unto the confines of light and darkness.

חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ Cho.shekh “darkness”

[ergänzt: Man] putteth an end to the darkness, and exploreth to the utmost limit, the stones of darkness and of the shadow of death.

לַחֹ֗שֶׁךְ (חֹ֗שֶׁךְ) Cho.shekh “darkness”

When his lamp shone over my head, [ergänzt: and] by his light I walked through darkness;

חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ Cho.shekh “darkness”

There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.

חֹ֭שֶׁךְ Cho.shekh “[is] darkness”

Teach us what we shall say unto him! We cannot order [ergänzt: our words] by reason of darkness.

Where is the way to where light dwelleth? and the darkness, where is its place,

וְ֝חֹ֗שֶׁךְ (חֹ֗שֶׁךְ) Cho.shekh “darkness”

He made darkness his secret place, his tent round about him: darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.

חֹ֨שֶׁךְ׀ Cho.shekh “darkness”

For it is thou that makest my lamp to shine: Jehovah my God enlighteneth my darkness.

חָשְׁכִּֽי׃ (חָשְׁכִּֽ) cha.she.K “darkness”

Let their way be dark and slippery, and let the angel of Jehovah pursue them.

חֹ֥שֶׁךְ Cho.shekh “darkness”

Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?

בַּחֹ֣שֶׁךְ (חֹ֣שֶׁךְ) Cho.shekh “darkness”

Thou makest darkness, and it is night, wherein all the beasts of the forest creep forth:

He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.

חֹ֭שֶׁךְ Cho.shekh “darkness”

Such as inhabit darkness and the shadow of death, bound in affliction and iron,

חֹ֣שֶׁךְ Cho.shekh “darkness”

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder.

מֵחֹ֣שֶׁךְ (חֹ֣שֶׁךְ) Cho.shekh “darkness”

Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness; he is gracious, and merciful, and righteous.

בַּחֹ֣שֶׁךְ (חֹ֣שֶׁךְ) Cho.shekh “darkness”

And if I say, Surely darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night;

חֹ֣שֶׁךְ Cho.shekh “darkness”

Even darkness hideth not from thee, and the night shineth as the day: the darkness is as the light.

חֹשֶׁךְ֮ cho.sheKh “darkness”

[ergänzt: from those] who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ Cho.shekh “darkness”

Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in the blackest darkness.

And I saw that wisdom excelleth folly, as light excelleth darkness.
