H1961–הָיָה–ha.yah

Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that gird yourselves with firebrands, begone in the flame of your fire, and among the brands that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of My hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.

הָיְתָה־ ha.ye.tah- “it will belong”

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath; for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner; but My salvation shall be for ever, and My

תִּֽהְיֶ֔ה tih.Yeh “it will be”

For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool; but My favour shall be for ever, and My salvation unto all generations.

תִּֽהְיֶ֔ה tih.Yeh “it will be”

Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near;

בִּֽהְיוֹת֥וֹ (הְיוֹת֥) h.yo.T “is”

So shall My word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, except it accomplish that which I please, and make the thing whereto I sent it prosper.

יִֽהְיֶ֤ה yih.Yeh “it is”

Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle; and it shall be to the LORD for a memorial, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

וְהָיָ֤ה (הָיָ֤ה) ha.Yah “it will become”

Also the aliens, that join themselves to the LORD, to minister unto Him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be His servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from profaning it, and holdeth fast by My covenant:

לִהְי֥וֹת (הְי֥וֹת) h.Yot “become”

'Come ye, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to-morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.'

וְהָיָ֤ה (הָיָ֤ה) ha.Yah “it will be”

Is such the fast that I have chosen? the day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?

יִֽהְיֶה֙ yih.Yeh “is it”

And the LORD will guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make strong thy bones; and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

וְהָיִ֙יתָ֙ (הָיִ֙יתָ֙) ha.Yi.ta “you will be”

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear.

הָי֣וּ ha.Yu “they have been”

Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall men cover themselves with their works; their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.

יִהְי֣וּ yih.Yu “they will become”

And truth is lacking, and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey. And the LORD saw it, and it displeased Him that there was no justice;

וַתְּהִ֤י (תְּהִ֤י) te.Hi “it was”

Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man passed through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

הֱיוֹתֵ֛ךְ (הֱיוֹתֵ֛) he.yo.Te “being”

The sun shall be no more thy light by day, neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee; but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

יִֽהְיֶה־ yih.yeh- “it will be”וְהָיָה־ (הָיָה) ha.yah- “he will become”

Thy sun shall no more go down, Neither shall thy moon withdraw itself; for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

יִֽהְיֶה־ yih.yeh- “he will become”

The smallest shall become a thousand, and the least a mighty nation; I the LORD will hasten it in its time.

יִֽהְיֶ֣ה yih.Yeh “he will become”

For your shame which was double, and for that they rejoiced: 'Confusion is their portion'; therefore in their land they shall possess double, everlasting joy shall be unto them.

תִּֽהְיֶ֥ה tih.Yeh “it will belong”

Thou shalt also be a crown of beauty in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the open hand of thy God.

וְהָיִ֛יתְ (הָיִ֛יתְ) ha.Yit “you will be”

For He said: 'Surely, they are My people, children that will not deal falsely'; so He was their Saviour.

וַיְהִ֥י (יְהִ֥י) y.Hi “he became”

We are become as they over whom Thou never borest rule, as they that were not called by Thy name. Oh, that Thou wouldest rend the heavens, that Thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might quake at Thy presence,

הָיִ֗ינוּ ha.Yi.nu “we have been”

And we are all become as one that is unclean, and all our righteousnesses are as a polluted garment; and we all do fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

וַנְּהִ֤י (נְּהִ֤י) ne.Hi “we have become”

Thy holy cities are become a wilderness, Zion is become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.

הָי֣וּ ha.Yu “they have been”הָיָ֔תָה ha.Ya.tah “it has been”

Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised Thee, is burned with fire; and all our pleasant things are laid waste.

הָיָ֖ה ha.Yah “it has become”הָיָ֥ה ha.Yah “it has become”

And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for herds to lie down in, for My people that have sought Me;

וְהָיָ֤ה (הָיָ֤ה) ha.Yah “it will become”
