And after I had given the writing of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Nerijah, I prayed unto Jehovah saying,
אֶת־ 'et- “<obj.>”
Alas, Lord Jehovah! Behold, thou hast made the heavens and the earth by thy great power and stretched-out arm; there is nothing too hard for thee:
אֶת־ 'et- “<obj.>”וְאֶת־ (אֶת) 'Et “<obj.>”
And thou broughtest forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt by signs, and by wonders, and by a powerful hand, and by a stretched-out arm, and by great terror;
אֶת־ 'et- “<obj.>”אֶת־ 'et- “<obj.>”
and didst give them this land, which thou hadst sworn unto their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey.
אֶת־ 'et- “<obj.>”
And they came in and possessed it: but they hearkened not unto thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do; so that thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them.
Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, and he shall take it.
אֶת־ 'et- “<obj.>”
And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come in and set fire to this city, and shall burn it, and the houses upon whose roofs they have offered incense unto Baal, and poured out drink-offerings unto other gods, to provoke me to anger.
For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have been doing only evil in my sight from their youth; for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith Jehovah.
אֹתִ֛י (אֹתִ֛) 'o.T “<obj.>”
For this city hath been to me [ergänzt: a provocation] of mine anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even unto this day; that I should remove it from before my face,
אוֹתָ֔הּ (אוֹתָ֔) 'o.Ta “<obj.>”
And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face; and though I taught them, rising early and teaching, they hearkened not to receive instruction.
אֹתָם֙ (אֹתָ) 'o.Ta “<obj.>”
and they have built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause to pass through [ergänzt: the fire] their sons and their daughters unto Molech: which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me all [ergänzt: their] days, for the good of them, and of their children after them.
אוֹתִ֖י (אוֹתִ֖) 'o.T “<obj.>”
And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not draw back from them, to do them good; and I will put my fear in their heart, that they may not turn aside from me.
And I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will assuredly plant them in this land with my whole heart and with my whole soul.
אוֹתָ֑ם (אוֹתָ֑) 'o.Ta “<obj.>”
For thus saith Jehovah: Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have spoken concerning them.
אֵ֛ת 'et “<obj.>”אֶת־ 'et- “<obj.>”
[ergänzt: Men] shall buy fields for money, and subscribe the writings, and seal them, and take witnesses, in the land of Benjamin, and in the environs of Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the hill-country, and in the cities of the lowland, and in the cities of the south: for I will turn their captivity, saith Jehovah.
אֶת־ 'et- “<obj.>”
Thus saith Jehovah the doer of it, Jehovah that formeth it to establish it, Jehovah is his name:
אוֹתָ֛הּ (אוֹתָ֛) 'o.Ta “<obj.>”
And I will turn the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel, and will build them, as at the beginning.
And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and a glory before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear of all the good that I do unto them; and they shall fear and tremble for all the good and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.
there shall again be heard the voice of mirth and the voice of joy, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that say, Give ye thanks unto Jehovah of hosts; for Jehovah is good, for his loving-kindness [ergänzt: endureth] for ever, -- of them that bring thanksgiving unto the house of Jehovah. For I will turn the captivity of the land as in the beginning, saith Jehovah.
אֶת־ 'et- “<obj.>”אֶת־ 'et- “<obj.>”
Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will perform the good word which I have spoken unto the house of Israel and unto the house of Judah.
אֶת־ 'et- “<obj.>”
Thus saith Jehovah: If ye can break my covenant [ergänzt: in respect] of the day, and my covenant [ergänzt: in respect] of the night, so that there should not be day and night in their season,
As the host of the heavens cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.
Hast thou not seen what this people have spoken, saying, The two families that Jehovah had chosen, he hath even cast them off? And they despise my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.
Et “<obj.>”
[ergänzt: then] will I also cast away the seed of Jacob, and of David my servant, so as not to take of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will turn their captivity, and will have mercy on them.
