Thou art changed to a cruel one to me; with the strength of thy hand thou pursuest me.

לִ֑י (י) i “me”תִשְׂטְמֵֽנִי׃ (נִי) ni “me”

Thou liftest me up to the wind; thou causest me to be borne away, and dissolvest my substance.

תִּשָּׂאֵ֣נִי (נִי) ni “me”תַּרְכִּיבֵ֑נִי (נִי) ni “me”וּ֝תְמֹגְגֵ֗נִי (נִי) ni “me”

For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, and into the house of assemblage for all living.

תְּשִׁיבֵ֑נִי (נִי) ni “me”

My bowels well up, and rest not; days of affliction have confronted me.

קִדְּמֻ֥נִי (נִי) ni “me”

My skin is become black [supplied: and falleth] off me, and my bones are parched with heat.

מֵעָלָ֑י (י) i “me”

(Let me be weighed in an even balance, and +God will take knowledge of my blamelessness;)

יִשְׁקְלֵ֥נִי (נִי) ni “me”

If I have despised the cause of my bondman or of my bondmaid, when they contended with me,

עִמָּדִֽי׃ (י) i “me”

Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not One fashion us in the womb?

עֹשֵׂ֣נִי (נִי) ni “me”

Or have eaten my morsel alone, so that the fatherless ate not thereof,

לְבַדִּ֑י (י) i “me”

(For from my youth he grew up with me as with a father, and I have guided the [supplied: widow] from my mother's womb;)

גְּדֵלַ֣נִי (נִי) ni “me”

If his loins have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my lambs;

בֵרֲכ֣וּנִי (נִי) ni “me”

For calamity from God was a terror to me, and by reason of his excellency I was powerless.

אֵ֭לַי (י) i “me”

If I rejoiced at the destruction of him that hated me, and exulted when evil befell him;

מְשַׂנְאִ֑י (י) I “me”

Because I feared the great multitude, and the contempt of families terrified me, so that I kept silence, and went not out of the door, ...

יְחִתֵּ֑נִי (נִי) ni “me”

Oh that I had one to hear me! Behold my signature: let the Almighty answer me! And let mine opponent write an accusation!

לִ֨י׀ (י) i “me”לִ֗י (י) i “me”יַעֲנֵ֑נִי (נִי) ni “me”

Would I not take it upon my shoulder? I would bind it on to me [supplied: as] a crown;

לִֽי׃ (י) i “myself”

If my land cry out against me, and its furrows weep together;

עָ֭לַי (י) i “me”

Therefore I say, Hearken to me; I also will shew what I know.

לִּ֑י (י) i “me”

Now he hath not directed [supplied: his] words against me; and I will not answer him with your speeches. ...

אֵלַ֣י (י) i “me”

For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.

הֱ֝צִיקַ֗תְנִי (נִי) ni “me”

I will speak, that I may find relief; I will open my lips and answer.

לִ֑י (י) i “me”

For I know not how to flatter; my Maker would soon take me away.

יִשָּׂאֵ֥נִי (נִי) ni “me”עֹשֵֽׂנִי׃ (נִי) ni “me”

The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

עָשָׂ֑תְנִי (נִי) ni “me”תְּחַיֵּֽנִי׃ (נִי) ni “me”

If thou canst, answer me; array [supplied: thy words] before me: take thy stand.

הֲשִׁיבֵ֑נִי (נִי) ni “me”

I am clean without transgression; I am pure, and there is no iniquity in me;

לִֽי׃ (י) i “me”
