And in the ninth year, in the tenth month, on the tenth of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

לַחֹ֖דֶשׁ (לַ) la. “of the”לֵאמֹֽר׃ (לֵ) le. “<to>”

Son of man, write thee the name of the day, of this selfsame day: on this selfsame day the king of Babylon draws near to Jerusalem.

לְךָ֙ (לְ) le. “<for>”

Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose rust is therein, and whose rust is not gone out of it! Bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it:

לָכֵ֞ן (לָ) la. “<to>”לִנְתָחֶ֤יהָ (לִ) li “to”לִנְתָחֶ֙יהָ֙ (לִ) li “to”

for her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the bare rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust.

לְכַסּ֥וֹת (לְ) le. “to”

That it might cause fury to come up to execute vengeance, I have set her blood upon the bare rock, that it should not be covered.

לְהַעֲל֤וֹת (לְ) le. “to”לִנְקֹ֣ם (לִ) li “to”לְבִלְתִּ֖י (לְ) le. “to”

Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the pile great.

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

לֵאמֹֽר׃ (לֵ) le. “<to>”

And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, which thou doest?

לָ֙נוּ֙ (לָ֙) la. “to”לָּ֔נוּ (לָּ֔) La. “for”

And I said to them, The word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

Say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and your soul's longing; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left behind shall fall by the sword.

לְבֵ֣ית (לְ) le. “to”

Thus Ezekiel shall be unto you a sign; according to all that he hath done shall ye do: when it cometh, then ye shall know that I [supplied: am] the Lord Jehovah.

לָכֶם֙ (לָ) la. “for”לְמוֹפֵ֔ת (לְ) le. “<into>”

that in that day he that escapeth shall come unto thee, to cause [supplied: thine] ears to hear [supplied: it]?

לְהַשְׁמָע֖וּת (לְ) le. “for”

In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him that is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more dumb. So shalt thou be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I [supplied: am] Jehovah.

לָהֶם֙ (לָ) la. “for”לְמוֹפֵ֔ת (לְ) le. “<into>”

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

לֵאמֹֽר׃ (לֵ) le. “<to>”

and say unto the children of Ammon, Hear the word of the Lord Jehovah. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was made desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity:

therefore behold, I will give thee to the children of the east for a possession, and they shall set their encampments in thee, and make their dwellings in thee; they shall eat thy fruits, and they shall drink thy milk.

And I will make Rabbah a pasture for camels, and the children of Ammon a couching-place for flocks: and ye shall know that I [supplied: am] Jehovah.

לִנְוֵ֣ה (לִ) li “into”לְמִרְבַּץ־ (לְ) le. “into”

therefore behold, I will stretch out my hand upon thee, and will give thee for a spoil to the nations; and I will cut thee off from the peoples, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee, and thou shalt know that I [supplied: am] Jehovah.

therefore behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities even to the last of them, the glory of the country, Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kirjathaim,

unto the children of the east, with [supplied: the land of] the children of Ammon; and I will give it them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations:

לִבְנֵי־ (לִ) li “to”לְמֽוֹרָשָׁ֑ה (לְ) le. “to”

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and hath made himself very guilty, and revenged himself upon them,

לְבֵ֣ית (לְ) le. “to”

therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also stretch out my hand upon Edom; and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and unto Dedan shall they fall by the sword.

לָכֵ֗ן (לָ) la. “<to>”

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with despite of soul, to destroy, from old hatred;

לְמַשְׁחִ֖ית (לְ) le. “to”

therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I stretch out my hands upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Kerethites, and cause the remnant of the sea-coast to perish.

And it came to pass in the eleventh year, on the first of the month, [supplied: that] the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
