And by the border of Benjamin, from the east side unto the west side: Simeon, one portion.

וְעַ֣ל׀ (וְ) ve. “and”

And by the border of Simeon, from the east side unto the west side: Issachar, one portion.

וְעַ֣ל׀ (וְ) ve. “and”

And by the border of Issachar, from the east side unto the west side: Zebulun, one portion.

וְעַ֣ל׀ (וְ) ve. “and”

And by the border of Zebulun, from the east side unto the west side: Gad, one portion.

וְעַ֣ל׀ (וְ) ve. “and”

And by the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border shall be even from Tamar unto the waters of Meribath-kadesh, to the Brook, unto the Great Sea.

וְעַל֙ (וְ) ve. “and”

This is the land which ye shall divide by lot unto the tribes of Israel for inheritance, and these are their portions, saith the Lord GOD.

וְאֵ֙לֶּה֙ (וְ) ve. “and”

And these are the goings out of the city: on the north side four thousand and five hundred reeds by measure;

וְאֵ֖לֶּה (וְ) ve. “and”וְאַרְבַּ֥עַת (וְ) ve. “and”

and the gates of the city shall be after the names of the tribes of Israel; three gates northward: the gate of Reuben, one; the gate of Judah, one; the gate of Levi, one;

וְשַׁעֲרֵ֣י (וְ) ve. “and”

and at the east side four thousand and five hundred reeds; and three gates: even the gate of Joseph, one; the gate of Benjamin, one; the gate of Dan, one;

וְאֶל־ (וְ) ve. “and”וְאַרְבַּ֣עַת (וְ) ve. “and”וּשְׁעָרִ֖ים (וּ) u. “and”וְשַׁ֨עַר (וְ) ve. “and”

and at the south side four thousand and five hundred reeds by measure; and three gates: the gate of Simeon, one; the gate of Issachar, one; the gate of Zebulun, one;

וּפְאַת־ (וּ) u. “and”וְאַרְבַּ֤עַת (וְ) ve. “and”וּשְׁעָרִ֖ים (וּ) u. “and”

at the west side four thousand and five hundred reeds, with their three gates: the gate of Gad, one; the gate of Asher, one; the gate of Naphtali, one.

וְאַרְבַּ֣עַת (וְ) ve. “and”

It shall be eighteen thousand reeds round about. And the name of the city from that day shall be, The LORD is there.'

וְשֵׁם־ (וְ) ve. “and”

And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God; and he carried them into the land of Shinar to the house of his god, and the vessels he brought into the treasure-house of his god.

וּמִקְצָת֙ (וּ) u. “and”וְאֶת־ (וְ) ve. “and”

And the king spoke unto Ashpenaz his chief officer, that he should bring in certain of the children of Israel, and of the seed royal, and of the nobles,

וּמִזֶּ֥רַע (וּ) u. “and”וּמִן־ (וּ) u. “and”

youths in whom was no blemish, but fair to look on, and skilful in all wisdom, and skilful in knowledge, and discerning in thought, and such as had ability to stand in the king's palace; and that he should teach them the learning and the tongue of the Ch

וְטוֹבֵ֨י (וְ) ve. “and”וּמַשְׂכִּילִ֣ים (וּ) u. “and”וְיֹ֤דְעֵי (וְ) ve. “and”וּמְבִינֵ֣י (וּ) u. “and”וַאֲשֶׁר֙ (וַ) va. “and”וּֽלֲלַמְּדָ֥ם (וּֽ) u. “and”וּלְשׁ֥וֹן (וּ) u. “and”

And the king appointed for them a daily portion of the king's food, and of the wine which he drank, and that they should be nourished three years; that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.

וּמִיֵּ֣ין (וּ) u. “and”וּֽלְגַדְּלָ֖ם (וּֽ) u. “and”וּמִ֨קְצָתָ֔ם (וּ) u. “and”

Now among these were, of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.

וַעֲזַרְיָֽה׃ (וַ) va. “and”

And the chief of the officers gave names unto them: unto Daniel he gave the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abed-nego.

וְלַֽחֲנַנְיָה֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וּלְמִֽישָׁאֵ֣ל (וּ) u. “and”וְלַעֲזַרְיָ֖ה (וְ) ve. “and”

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king's food, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the officers that he might not defile himself.

וּבְיֵ֣ין (וּ) u. “and”

And God granted Daniel mercy and compassion in the sight of the chief of the officers.

וּֽלְרַחֲמִ֑ים (וּֽ) u. “and”

And the chief of the officers said unto Daniel: 'I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your food and your drink; for why should he see your faces sad in comparison with the youths that are of your own age? so would ye endanger my head with the king

וְאֶת־ (וְ) ve. “and”

Then said Daniel to the steward, whom the chief of the officers had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:

וַעֲזַרְיָֽה׃ (וַ) va. “and”

'Try thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink.

וְיִתְּנוּ־ (וְ) ve. “so”וְנֹאכְלָ֖ה (וְ) ve. “so”וּמַ֥יִם (וּ) u. “and”וְנִשְׁתֶּֽה׃ (וְ) ve. “so”

Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the youths that eat of the king's food; and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.'

וְיֵרָא֤וּ (וְ) ve. “and”וּמַרְאֵה֙ (וּ) u. “and”וְכַאֲשֶׁ֣ר (וְ) ve. “and”

And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer, and they were fatter in flesh, than all the youths that did eat of the king's food.

וּמִקְצָת֙ (וּ) u. “and”וּבְרִיאֵ֖י (וּ) u. “and”
