And Moses swore on that day, saying, The land whereon thy feet have trodden shall assuredly be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever! for thou hast wholly followed Jehovah my God.

וּלְבָנֶ֖יךָ (וּ) u. “and”

And now behold, Jehovah has kept me alive, as he said, these forty-five years, since Jehovah spoke this word to Moses, when Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now behold, I am this day eighty-five years old.

וְעַתָּ֗ה (וְ) ve. “and”וְחָמֵ֜שׁ (וְ) ve. “and”וְעַתָּה֙ (וְ) ve. “and”וּשְׁמוֹנִ֖ים (וּ) u. “and”

I am still this day strong, as in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out and to come in.

וּכְכֹ֣חִי (וּ) u. “and”וְלָצֵ֥את (וְ) ve. “and”וְלָבֽוֹא׃ (וְ) ve. “and”

And now give me this mountain, of which Jehovah spoke in that day; for thou heardest in that day that Anakim are there, and great fortified cities. If so be Jehovah shall be with me, then I shall dispossess them, as Jehovah said.

וְעַתָּ֗ה (וְ) ve. “and”וְעָרִים֙ (וְ) ve. “and”

Now the name of Hebron before was Kirjath-Arba; the great man among the Anakim. And the land rested from war.

וְשֵׁ֨ם (וְ) ve. “and”וְהָאָ֥רֶץ (וְ) ve. “and”

-- And the eastern border was the salt sea as far as the end of the Jordan. -- And the border on the north side was from the tongue of the salt sea, at the end of the Jordan;

וּגְב֥וּל (וּ) u. “and”וּגְב֞וּל (וּ) u. “and”

and the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and turned northward to Gilgal, which is opposite to the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the torrent; and the border passed to the waters of En-shemesh, and ended at En-rogel;

וְצָפ֜וֹנָה (וְ) ve. “and”

-- And the west border is the great sea and [supplied: its] coast. This is the border of the children of Judah round about, according to their families.

וּגְב֣וּל (וּ) u. “and”וּגְב֑וּל (וּ) u. “and”

And to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah according to the commandment of Jehovah to Joshua, the city of Arba, the father of Anak, that is, Hebron.

וּלְכָלֵ֣ב (וּ) u. “and”

And thence Caleb dispossessed the three sons of Anak, Sheshai and Ahiman and Talmai, who were born of Anak.

וְאֶת־ (וְ) ve. “and”וְאֶת־ (וְ) ve. “and”

And from there he went up against the inhabitants of Debir; now the name of Debir before was Kirjath-sepher.

וְשֵׁם־ (וְ) ve. “and”

And she said, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a southern land; give me also springs of water. Then he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.

וְאֵ֖ת (וְ) ve. “and”

The cities at the extremity of the tribe of the children of Judah, toward the border of Edom in the south, were: Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

וְעֵ֖דֶר (וְ) ve. “and”וְיָגֽוּר׃ (וְ) ve. “and”

and Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,

וְקִינָ֥ה (וְ) ve. “and”וְדִֽימוֹנָ֖ה (וְ) ve. “and”וְעַדְעָדָֽה׃ (וְ) ve. “and”

and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Jithnan,

וְקֶ֥דֶשׁ (וְ) ve. “and”וְחָצ֖וֹר (וְ) ve. “and”וְיִתְנָֽן׃ (וְ) ve. “and”

Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,

וָטֶ֖לֶם (וָ) va. “and”וּבְעָלֽוֹת׃ (וּ) u. “and”

and Hazor-hadattah, and Kerioth-Hezron, that is Hazor,

וְחָצ֤וֹר׀ (וְ) ve. “and”וּקְרִיּ֔וֹת (וּ) u. “and”

Amam, and Shema, and Molada,

וּשְׁמַ֖ע (וּ) u. “and”וּמוֹלָדָֽה׃ (וּ) u. “and”

and Hazar-gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-Pelet,

וַחֲצַ֥ר (וַ) va. “and”וְחֶשְׁמ֖וֹן (וְ) ve. “and”וּבֵ֥ית (וּ) u. “and”

and Hazar-Shual, and Beer-sheba, and Biziothiah;

וַחֲצַ֥ר (וַ) va. “and”וּבְאֵ֥ר (וּ) u. “and”וּבִזְיוֹתְיָֽה׃ (וּ) u. “and”

Baalah, and Ijim, and Ezem,

וְעִיִּ֖ים (וְ) ve. “and”וָעָֽצֶם׃ (וָ) va. “and”

and Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,

וְאֶלְתּוֹלַ֥ד (וְ) ve. “and”וּכְסִ֖יל (וּ) u. “and”וְחָרְמָֽה׃ (וְ) ve. “and”

and Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansanna,

וְצִֽקְלַ֥ג (וְ) ve. “and”וּמַדְמַנָּ֖ה (וּ) u. “and”וְסַנְסַנָּֽה׃ (וְ) ve. “and”

and Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities twenty-nine, and their hamlets.

וּלְבָא֥וֹת (וּ) u. “and”וְשִׁלְחִ֖ים (וְ) ve. “and”וְעַ֣יִן (וְ) ve. “and”וְרִמּ֑וֹן (וְ) ve. “and”וָתֵ֖שַׁע (וָ) va. “and”וְחַצְרֵיהֶֽן׃ (וְ) ve. “and”

-- In the lowland: Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,

וְצָרְעָ֖ה (וְ) ve. “and”וְאַשְׁנָֽה׃ (וְ) ve. “and”
