And they say unto God, Depart from us, for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways!

וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ (וַ) va “and”

And Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,

וַ֭יַּעַן (וַ֭) Va “and”וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ (וַ) va “and”

Then the Almighty will be thy precious ore, and silver heaped up unto thee;

וְהָיָ֣ה (וְ) ve. “and”

When they are made low, then thou shalt say, Rise up! and he shall save him that is of downcast eyes.

וַתֹּ֣אמֶר (וַ) va. “and”

[supplied: Even] him that is not innocent shall he deliver; yea, he shall be delivered by the pureness of thy hands.

וְ֝נִמְלַ֗ט (וְ֝) ve. “and”

And Job answered and said,

וַיַּ֥עַן (וַ) va “and”וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ (וַ) va “and”

But he is in one [supplied: mind], and who can turn him? And what his soul desireth, that will he do.

וַיָּֽעַשׂ׃ (וַ) va “and”

They remove the landmarks; they violently take away the flocks and pasture them;

וַיִּרְעֽוּ׃ (וַ) va “and”

They press out oil within their walls, they tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst.

וַיִּצְמָֽאוּ׃ (וַ) va “and”

The womb forgetteth him; the worm feedeth sweetly on him: he shall be no more remembered; and unrighteousness is broken as a tree, --

וַתִּשָּׁבֵ֖ר (וַ) va. “and”

He draweth also the mighty with his power; he riseth up, and no [supplied: man] is sure of life.

וּמָשַׁ֣ךְ (וּ) u. “and”

They are exalted for a little, and are no more; they are laid low; like all [supplied: other] are they gathered, and are cut off as the tops of the ears of corn.

וְֽהֻמְּכ֗וּ (וְֽ) ve. “and”

And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,

וַ֭יַּעַן (וַ֭) Va “and”וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ (וַ) va “and”

And Job answered and said,

וַיַּ֥עַן (וַ) va “and”וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ (וַ) va “and”

And Job continued his parable and said,

וַיֹּ֣סֶף (וַ) va “and”וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ (וַ) va “and”

For it is hidden from the eyes of all living, and concealed from the fowl of the heavens.

וְֽ֭נֶעֶלְמָה (וְֽ֭) Ve. “and”

Then did he see it, and declare it; he established it, yea, and searched it out;

וַֽיְסַפְּרָ֑הּ (וַֽ) va “and”

And unto man he said, Lo, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר׀ (וַ) va “and”

And Job continued his parable and said,

וַיֹּ֣סֶף (וַ) va “and”וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ (וַ) va “and”

The young men saw me, and hid themselves; and the aged arose [supplied: and] stood up;

וְנֶחְבָּ֑אוּ (וְ) ve. “and”

When the ear heard [supplied: me], then it blessed me, and when the eye saw [supplied: me], it gave witness to me;

וַֽתְּאַשְּׁרֵ֑נִי (וַֽ) va. “and”וַתְּעִידֵֽנִי׃ (וַ) va. “and”

I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; my justice was as a mantle and a turban.

וַיִּלְבָּשֵׁ֑נִי (וַ) va “and”

And I broke the jaws of the unrighteous, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth.

וָֽ֭אֲשַׁבְּרָה (וָֽ֭) Va. “and”

And I said, I shall die in my nest, and multiply my days as the sand;

וָ֭אֹמַר (וָ֭) Va. “and”

And they waited for me as for the rain, and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.

וְיִֽחֲל֣וּ (וְ) ve. “and”
