But many of the priests and Levites and chief fathers, the ancient men that had seen the first house, wept with a loud voice, [supplied: when] the foundation of this house was laid in their sight; and many shouted aloud for joy.

וְהַלְוִיִּם֩ (לְוִיִּם֩) l.vi.Yim “Levites”

For the priests and the Levites had purified themselves as one [supplied: man]: they were all pure; and they killed the passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brethren the priests, and for themselves.

וְהַלְוִיִּ֛ם (לְוִיִּ֛ם) l.vi.Yim “Levites”

(And there went up [supplied: some] of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the doorkeepers, and the Nethinim, to Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.)

וְהַלְוִיִּ֜ם (לְוִיִּ֜ם) l.vi.Yim “Levites”

And I gathered them together at the river that runs to Ahava; and there we encamped three days; and I surveyed the people and the priests, and found none of the sons of Levi there.

And by the good hand of our God upon us, they brought us a man of understanding, of the sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel, namely, Sherebiah, with his sons and his brethren, eighteen;

and of the Nethinim, whom David and the princes had appointed for the service of the Levites, two hundred and twenty Nethinim: all of them were expressed by name.

הַלְוִיִּ֔ם (לְוִיִּ֔ם) l.vi.Yim “Levites”

Watch and keep [supplied: them] until ye weigh them before the chiefs of the priests and the Levites, and the chiefs of the fathers of Israel, at Jerusalem, in the chambers of the house of Jehovah.

And the priests and the Levites received by weight the silver and the gold and the vessels, to bring them to Jerusalem unto the house of our God.

וְהַלְוִיִּ֔ם (לְוִיִּ֔ם) l.vi.Yim “Levites”

And on the fourth day the silver and the gold and the vessels were weighed in the house of our God into the hand of Meremoth the son of Urijah the priest; and with him was Eleazar the son of Phinehas; and with them were Jozabad the son of Jeshua, and Noadiah the son of Binnui, Levites:

הַלְוִיִּֽם׃ (לְוִיִּֽם) l.vi.Yim “Levites”

Now when these things were completed, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands, according to their abominations, [supplied: even] of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites;

Then Ezra arose, and made the chiefs of the priests, of the Levites, and of all Israel, to swear that they would do according to this word. And they swore.

Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahzeiah the son of Tikvah stood up against this; and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them.

And of the Levites: Jozabad, and Shimei, and Kelaiah (that is, Kelita), Pethahiah, Judah, and Eliezer.

הַלְוִיִּ֑ם (לְוִיִּ֑ם) l.vi.Yim “Levites”

After him repaired the Levites, Rehum the son of Bani. Next to him repaired Hashabiah, the chief of the half district of Keilah, for his district.

And it came to pass when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, that the doorkeepers and the singers and the Levites were appointed.

וְהַלְוִיִּֽם׃ (לְוִיִּֽם) l.vi.Yim “Levites”

The Levites: the children of Jeshua [supplied: and] of Kadmiel, of the children of Hodvah, seventy-four.

הַלְוִיִּ֑ם (לְוִיִּ֑ם) l.vi.Yim “Levites”

And the priests, and the Levites, and the doorkeepers, and the singers, and [supplied: some] of the people, and the Nethinim, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities. And when the seventh month came, and the children of Israel were in their cities,

וְהַלְוִיִּ֡ם (לְוִיִּ֡ם) l.vi.Yim “Levites”

And Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law; and the people [supplied: stood] in their place.

וְהַלְוִיִּ֔ם (לְוִיִּ֔ם) l.vi.Yim “Levites”

And Nehemiah, that is, the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that explained to the people, said to all the people, This day is holy to Jehovah your God: mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept when they heard the words of the law.

וְהַלְוִיִּם֩ (לְוִיִּם֩) l.vi.Yim “Levites”

And the Levites quieted all the people, saying, Be still! for the day is holy; neither be grieved.

וְהַלְוִיִּ֞ם (לְוִיִּ֞ם) l.vi.Yim “Levites”

And on the second day were gathered together the chief fathers of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, to Ezra the scribe, even to gain wisdom as to the words of the law.

וְהַלְוִיִּ֔ם (לְוִיִּ֔ם) l.vi.Yim “Levites”

Then stood up upon the platform of the Levites, Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, Chenani, and cried with a loud voice to Jehovah their God.

הַלְוִיִּ֗ם (לְוִיִּ֗ם) l.vi.Yim “Levites”

And the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, Pethahiah, said, Stand up, bless Jehovah your God from eternity to eternity. And let [supplied: men] bless the name of thy glory, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.

And because of all this we make a sure covenant, and write it; and our princes, our Levites, [supplied: and] our priests are at the sealing.
