Are ye not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel? saith Jehovah. Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt? and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?

For behold, I command, and I will shake the house of Israel to and fro among all the nations, like as one shaketh [supplied: corn] in a sieve; yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Yis.ra.'El “Israel”

And I will turn again the captivity of my people Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; and they shall make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ Yis.ra.'El “Israel”

and the captives of this host of the children of Israel [supplied: shall possess] what belonged to the Canaanites, unto Zarephath; and the captives of Jerusalem, who [supplied: were] in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.

For the transgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. Whence is the transgression of Jacob? is it not [supplied: from] Samaria? And whence are the high places of Judah? are they not [supplied: from] Jerusalem?

Bind the chariot to the swift steed, O inhabitress of Lachish: she was the beginning of sin to the daughter of Zion; for in thee were found the transgressions of Israel.

Therefore shalt thou give parting-gifts to Moresheth-Gath: the houses of Achzib shall be a lie to the kings of Israel.

I will yet bring unto thee an heir, O inhabitress of Mareshah; the glory of Israel shall come even unto Adullam.

I will surely assemble, O Jacob, the whole of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as sheep of Bozrah, as a flock in the midst of their pasture: they shall make great noise by reason of [supplied: the multitude of] men.

And I said, Hear, I pray you, ye heads of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel: Is it not for you to know judgment?

But truly I am filled with power by the Spirit of Jehovah, and with judgment and with might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.

וּלְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל (יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל) Yis.ra.'El “Israel”

Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity,

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Yis.ra.'El “Israel”

Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops; he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Yis.ra.'El “Israel”

(And thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall he come forth unto me [supplied: who is] to be Ruler in Israel: whose goings forth are from of old, from the days of eternity.)

Therefore will he give them up, until the time when she which travaileth shall have brought forth: and the residue of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.

Hear, ye mountains, Jehovah's controversy, and ye, unchanging foundations of the earth; for Jehovah hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל Yis.ra.'El “Israel”

For Jehovah hath brought again the glory of Jacob, as the glory of Israel; for the wasters have wasted them, and marred their vine-branches.

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Yis.ra.'El “Israel”

Therefore, [supplied: as] I live, saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, Moab shall certainly be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, a possession of nettles, and salt-pits, and a perpetual desolation; the remnant of my people shall spoil them, and the residue of my nation shall possess them.

The remnant of Israel shall not work unrighteousness, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: but *they* shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

Exult, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; rejoice and be glad with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem:

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Yis.ra.'El “O Israel”

Jehovah hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy; the King of Israel, Jehovah, is in the midst of thee; thou shalt not see evil any more.

יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל׀ Yis.ra.'El “Israel”

And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these? And he said to me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל Yis.ra.'El “Israel”

And it shall come to pass, like as ye were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear ye not, let your hands be strong.

The burden of the word of Jehovah, in the land of Hadrach, and [supplied: on] Damascus shall it rest; (for Jehovah hath an eye upon men, and upon all the tribes of Israel;)

And I cut asunder mine other staff, Bands, to break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
