He will sing before men, and say, I have sinned, and perverted what was right, and it hath not been requited to me;

וְיָשָׁ֥ר (יָשָׁ֥ר) ya.Shar “upright[ness]”

My shield is with God, who saveth the upright in heart.

יִשְׁרֵי־ yish.rei- “of [people] upright of”

For behold, the wicked bend the bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may in darkness shoot at the upright in heart.

לְיִשְׁרֵי־ (יִשְׁרֵי) yish.rei- “[people] upright of”

For righteous is Jehovah; he loveth righteousness, his countenance doth behold the upright.

יָ֝שָׁ֗ר ya.Shar “[the] upright”

The precepts of Jehovah are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of Jehovah is pure, enlightening the eyes;

יְ֭שָׁרִים Ye.sha.rim “[are] upright”

Good and upright is Jehovah; therefore will he instruct sinners in the way:

וְיָשָׁ֥ר (יָשָׁ֥ר) ya.Shar “upright”

Rejoice in Jehovah, and be glad, ye righteous; and shout for joy, all ye upright in heart.

יִשְׁרֵי־ yish.rei- “[people] upright of”

Exult, ye righteous, in Jehovah: praise is comely for the upright.

לַ֝יְשָׁרִ֗ים (יְשָׁרִ֗ים) y.sha.Rim “upright [people]”

For the word of Jehovah is right, and all his work is in faithfulness.

Continue thy loving-kindness unto them that know thee, and thy righteousness to the upright in heart;

לְיִשְׁרֵי־ (יִשְׁרֵי) yish.rei- “[people] upright of”

The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the afflicted and needy, to slay those that are upright in [supplied: the] way:

יִשְׁרֵי־ yish.rei- “[people] upright of”

Mark the perfect, and behold the upright, for the end of [supplied: that] man is peace;

יָשָׁ֑ר ya.Shar “[the] upright”

Like sheep are they laid in Sheol: Death feedeth on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their comeliness shall be for Sheol to consume, that there be no habitation for them.

יְשָׁרִ֨ים׀ ye.sha.Rim “upright [people]”

The righteous shall rejoice in Jehovah, and trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

To shew that Jehovah is upright: [supplied: he is] my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

יָשָׁ֣ר ya.Shar “[is] upright”

For judgment shall return unto righteousness, and all the upright in heart shall follow it.

Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.

וּֽלְיִשְׁרֵי־ (יִשְׁרֵי) yish.rei- “[people] upright of”

And he led them forth by a right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

יְשָׁרָ֑ה ye.sha.Rah “straight”

The upright shall see it, and rejoice; and all unrighteousness shall stop its mouth.

Hallelujah! I will celebrate Jehovah with [supplied: my] whole heart, in the council of the upright, and in the assembly.

Maintained for ever and ever, done in truth and uprightness.

וְיָשָֽׁר׃ (יָשָֽׁר) ya.Shar “upright[ness]”

His seed shall be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness; he is gracious, and merciful, and righteous.

TZADE. Righteous art thou, Jehovah, and upright are thy judgments.

Do good, O Jehovah, unto the good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.
