Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all countries, destroying them utterly; and shalt thou be delivered?

הִנֵּ֣ה׀ hi.Neh “here!”

And an angel of Jehovah went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and eighty-five thousand. And when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead bodies.

וְהִנֵּ֥ה (הִנֵּ֥ה) hi.Neh “there!”

Behold, instead of peace I had bitterness upon bitterness; but thou hast in love delivered my soul from the pit of destruction; for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.

הִנֵּ֥ה hi.Neh “here!”

Behold, days come when all that is in thy house, and that which thy fathers have laid up until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith Jehovah.

הִנֵּה֮ hi.Neh “here!”

O Zion, that bringest glad tidings, get thee up into a high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest glad tidings, lift up thy voice with strength: lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!

הִנֵּ֖ה hi.Neh “here!”

Behold, the Lord Jehovah will come with might, and his arm shall rule for him; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompence before him.

הִנֵּ֨ה hi.Neh “here!”הִנֵּ֤ה hi.Neh “here!”

Behold, I have made of thee a new sharp threshing instrument having double teeth: thou shalt thresh and beat small the mountains, and shalt make the hills as chaff;

הִנֵּ֣ה hi.Neh “here!”

The first, [supplied: I said] to Zion, Behold, behold them! and to Jerusalem, I will give one that bringeth glad tidings.

הִנֵּ֣ה hi.Neh “here!”

Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth will I cause you to hear them.

הִנֵּה־ hi.neh- “there!”

Behold, they shall be as stubble, the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, [supplied: nor] fire to sit before it.

הִנֵּ֨ה hi.Neh “there!”

they are created now, and not long ago; and before this day thou hast not heard them, lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them.

הִנֵּ֥ה hi.Neh “here!”

Behold, I have refined thee, but not as silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

הִנֵּ֥ה hi.Neh “here!”

Behold, these shall come from afar; and behold, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.

הִנֵּה־ hi.neh- “here!”וְהִֽנֵּה־ (הִֽנֵּה) hi.neh- “here!”

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations, and set up my banner to the peoples; and they shall bring thy sons in [supplied: their] bosom, and thy daughters shall be carried upon the shoulder.

הִנֵּ֨ה hi.Neh “here!”

thus saith thy Lord, Jehovah, and thy God, who pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I take out of thy hand the cup of bewilderment, the goblet-cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again:

הִנֵּ֥ה hi.Neh “here!”

Behold, my servant shall deal prudently; he shall be exalted and be lifted up, and be very high.

הִנֵּ֥ה hi.Neh “there!”

[supplied: Thou] afflicted, tossed with tempest, not comforted! Behold, I will set thy stones in antimony, and lay thy foundations with sapphires;

הִנֵּ֨ה hi.Neh “here!”

Behold, it is I who have created the smith that bloweth in the fire of coal, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the destroyer to ravage.

הִנֵּ֤ה hen “here!”

Therefore is justice far from us, and righteousness overtaketh us not: we wait for light, and behold darkness; for brightness, [supplied: but] we walk in obscurity.

וְהִנֵּה־ (הִנֵּה) hi.neh- “there!”

For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but Jehovah will arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen on thee.

הִנֵּ֤ה hi.Neh “there!”

Behold, Jehovah hath proclaimed unto the end of the earth, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompence before him.

הִנֵּ֣ה hi.Neh “there!”הִנֵּ֥ה hi.Neh “there!”הִנֵּ֤ה hi.Neh “there!”

Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom,

הִנֵּ֥ה hi.Neh “here!”

Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, my servants shall eat, and *ye* shall be hungry; behold, my servants shall drink, and *ye* shall be thirsty; behold, my servants shall rejoice, and *ye* shall be ashamed;

הִנֵּ֨ה hi.Neh “here!”הִנֵּ֧ה hi.Neh “here!”הִנֵּ֧ה hi.Neh “here!”

behold, my servants shall sing aloud for gladness of heart, and *ye* shall cry out for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.

הִנֵּ֧ה hi.Neh “here!”

For behold, Jehovah will come with fire, and his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
