Behold, ye fast for strife and contention, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye fast not this day so as to make your voice to be heard on high.

הֵ֣ן hen “there!”

Then shalt thou call, and Jehovah will answer; thou shalt cry, and he will say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking wickedly;

הִנֵּ֑נִי (הִנֵּ֑) hi.Ne. “here [am]”

Behold, Jehovah's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

הֵ֛ן hen “here!”

Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou wast wroth, and we sinned: in them [supplied: have we been] of long time; and shall we be saved?

הֵן־ hen- “there!”

Be not wroth very sore, O Jehovah, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, look, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.

הֵ֥ן hen “here!”

I am inquired of by them that asked not [supplied: for me]; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.

הִנֵּ֣נִי (הִנֵּ֣) hi.Ne. “here [am]”הִנֵּ֔נִי (הִנֵּ֔) hi.Ne. “here [am]”

For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

הִנְנִ֥י (הִנְ) hi. “here”

But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create; for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

הִנְנִ֨י (הִנְ) hi. “here”

For thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream: and ye shall suck [supplied: thereof]; ye shall be borne upon the side, and shall be dandled upon the knees.

הִנְנִ֣י (הִנְ) hi. “here”

For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith Jehovah; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.

הִנְנִ֣י (הִנְ) hi. “here”

For pass over to the isles of Kittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently; and see if there hath been such a thing.

הֵ֥ן hen “there!”

Yet thou saidst, I am innocent; surely his anger is turned away from me. Behold, I will enter into judgment with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned.

הִנְנִי֙ (הִנְ) hi. “here”

They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, will he return unto her again? will not that land be greatly polluted? But thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith Jehovah.

הֵ֣ן hen “there!”

Return, ye backsliding children, I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we are come unto thee; for thou art Jehovah our God.

הִנְנוּ֙ (הִנְ) hi. “here [are]”

Wherefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

הִנְנִ֣י (הִנְ) hi. “here”

Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith Jehovah: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say.

הִנְנִ֣י (הִנְ) hi. “here”

Therefore thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will lay stumbling-blocks before this people; and the fathers and the sons together shall stumble against them; the neighbor and his friend shall perish.

הִנְנִ֥י (הִנְ) hi. “here”

For, behold, I will send serpents, adders, among you, which will not be charmed; and they shall bite you, saith Jehovah.

הִנְנִ֨י (הִנְ) hi. “here”

Therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how [supplied: else] should I do, because of the daughter of my people?

הִנְנִ֥י (הִנְ) hi. “here”

therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.

הִנְנִ֧י (הִנְ) hi. “here”

For thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this time, and will distress them, that they may feel [supplied: it].

הִנְנִ֥י (הִנְ) hi. “here”

Therefore thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and they shall cry unto me, but I will not hearken unto them.

הִנְנִ֨י (הִנְ) hi. “here”

therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine;

הִנְנִ֥י (הִנְ) hi. “here”

Thus saith Jehovah against all mine evil neighbors, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.

הִנְנִ֤י (הִנְ) hi. “here”

Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David's throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
