Woe to the world because of offences! For it must needs be that offences come; yet woe to that man by whom the offence comes!

γὰρ gar “for”

See that ye do not despise one of these little ones; for I say unto you that their angels in [supplied: the] heavens continually behold the face of my Father who is in [supplied: the] heavens.

For the Son of man has come to save that which was lost.

For where two or three are gathered together unto my name, there am I in the midst of them.

for there are eunuchs which have been born thus from [supplied: their] mother's womb; and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs of men; and there are eunuchs who have made eunuchs of themselves for the sake of the kingdom of the heavens. He that is able to receive [supplied: it], let him receive [supplied: it].

But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and do not hinder them from coming to me; for the kingdom of the heavens is of such:

But the young man, having heard the word, went away grieved, for he had large possessions.

For the kingdom of the heavens is like a householder who went out with the early morn to hire workmen for his vineyard.

Thus shall the last be first, and the first last; for many are called ones, but few chosen ones.

but if we should say, Of men, we fear the crowd, for all hold John for a prophet.

For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not; but the tax-gatherers and the harlots believed him; but *ye* when ye saw [supplied: it] repented not yourselves afterwards to believe him.

For many are called ones, but few chosen ones.

And they send out to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thou art true and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one, for thou regardest not men's person;

In the resurrection therefore of which of the seven shall she be wife, for all had her?

γὰρ gar “for”

For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as angels of God in heaven.

all things therefore, whatever they may tell you, do and keep. But do not after their works, for they say and do not,

And all their works they do to be seen of men: for they make broad their phylacteries and enlarge the borders [supplied: of their garments],

But *ye*, be not ye called Rabbi; for one is your instructor, and all *ye* are brethren.

And call not [supplied: any one] your father upon the earth; for one is your Father, he who is in the heavens.

γάρ gar “for”

But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, for ye shut up the kingdom of the heavens before men; for *ye* do not enter, nor do ye suffer those that are entering to go in.

Fools and blind, for which is greater, the gold, or the temple which sanctifies the gold?

γὰρ gar “for”

[supplied: Fools and] blind ones, for which is greater, the gift, or the altar which sanctifies the gift?

γὰρ gar “for”

for I say unto you, Ye shall in no wise see me henceforth until ye say, Blessed [supplied: be] he that comes in the name of [supplied: the] Lord.

For many shall come in my name, saying, *I* am the Christ, and they shall mislead many.

γὰρ gar “for”

But ye will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that ye be not disturbed; for all [supplied: these things] must take place, but it is not yet the end.
